The roster has not been composed well. I think Norris if stayin healthy can be a missing piece among offensive players, and summer will tell If they can balance up the defense. But even with a better constructed defense roster I do not have any trust in anyone of current coaching stuff to take the team to playoff. However, a more important question is do the players have trust in the coaching stuff? I believe not. Not after this horrible season. Not the way they play.

Agree. I didn't write it with a trade for him in mind. It was just my general thaughts on Pettersson. The team that takes a chance on him and gives him some time to adjust will get one heck of a hockey player. Maybe overpriced, but still, there might be possibilities to get some salary retained depending on what Canucks get in return.

Pettersson needs to change team and he needs time of to get some distance to everything that happened in Canucks. I doubt he will reach 100 points again, but when he gets his spark back he will be a player that makes difference. Those skills are still there, someone just needs to help him to find the focus. My honest opinion.

No, I do not know, but Dundon seems to be a person that people have opinions about. It seems they have taken several steps back, even if they are in a playoff spot. Might be a retool coming. So in that case there seems to be something to be happy about. And Rantanen was as pissed of on Carolina as he was on Avs.

No guarantees this year, but he is signing for eight years. I just know he was pissed and fans of hockey will witness an interesting battle. Carolina and Colorado negotiated about the deal behind Rantanens back. Carolina was the big losers in that trade as it seems and Rantanen is back in west to make sure Colorado doesn't get another cup. Karma.

This is a good extension, AAV is pretty much where I hoped it would be. So are the two years.

I can see why teams are interested in Peterka, but are there a reason why we would trade him?? He might deserve big money on his next contract, and there was talk about teams making an offersheet on him. However, that is not a reason to trade him.

Peterka definitely no, the Cozens trade is something I would consider.

I don't see any reason to keep Power if Dobson would sign a longer contract. Even if Novikov would not be ready as an top4 NHLer next season, understandable, there are much more stay at home LHD veterans to choose from.

Novikov is big, strong and currently second best +/-stats overall in AHL. He is a LHD but he will get the job done in a couple of years. A scenario I am thinking of this moment is a trade where we send Power to Islanders in exchange for Noah Dobson (RHD). We probably at least would have to send them a prospect or take a bad contract like Pageau in exchange.

It was a joke, I think a retool is needed. But making the right trades are difficult, unfortunately that is a position they have put themselves into. And trade deadline is usually not right time to do that for a team in Sabres position. Unless they want draftpicks in return. It sounds like they want hockeytrades though.

I rather would like to look at the teams in top and their defense. A team like Capitals were going down, then they added Thompson in net, and Chychrun and Roy on D. Carolina is a well coached machine with a playmaker like Aho and a big leader in Staal, but to me it is their defense that keeps them in a playoff position. Just as example. Otherwise they are not that much better than us. There is a lot of talking of our offensive players like Cozens and Quinn, and I agree they have struggled, and they are a part of the teamdefense. Still, to me, the big reason we are where we are is that we don't have defenders good enough to defend. It is all on the GM. Having a first line that produce is a important thing to have, and in the trade discussion, those who have played on first line recently are them I like to keep. A major retool is needed.

We need to trade one puckmoving D, and Byram is the one we should trade.

I think it still depends on the results from coming games. If they win all four, or even three of them, very little will happen. Probably we still will see Greenway moved to a contender. And I think they will sell high on Joker. Lafferty and NAK has been disappointments and Lafferty is the player I am most sure will be gone. I hope they value The Amerks success enough to keep NAK there. If they lose coming games against Sjs and Habs Zucker will be gone also. Still hoping he returns next season. Bigger moves will happen during offseason. If they happen, not that sure about it.

Canes with only their second win in February. They were desperate and it paid off. Sabres seemed slow. On to the next one.

If Sabres want to be a serious team and eventually a contender we should try to get a player like Marner. And I was surprised by how good twoway player he is when watching him in 4Nations.

I think a lot depends on who we could play Zegras with. He would bring playmaking qualities that we need on powerplay. 5on5 he would not bring much improvement. I would give Marner 13 million. But then we need to get Cozens or Powers' contract moved.
