I'd rather have them miss the playoffs and get a better 2nd round pick. Going from the 5th round to 4th round is not as valuable as moving up 5-10 slots in the 2nd round. ;)

Pegula at Amerks game last night instead of Sabres game. Can't say I blame him for choosing to see the farm team over the sabres.... Unfortunately they lost 3-1.

The audio of Miller being interviewed about Pominville is priceless. When talking about being a teammate of Pominville for 11 years, he says "nobody is going to feel sorry for us". You do know that Vanek has 1 year left on his contract? Even if he had 5 years remaining on his deal @ 2 mil per year, the teams holding the top 3 picks are not moving them especially not for Vanek. Bet the house on it.

I'm not saying they are winning a cup with the rosters they have today, but how are some teams having great regular seasons without top 6 forwards loaded with talent(for example Ottawa & Montreal) while the Sabres are within arms length of rock bottom? There is something really wrong here from top to bottom.

Paul Hamilton is full of himself, but this morning I thought he was really reaching. He stated that based on DR's comments at the PC yesterday, that Miller and Vanek will both be traded in the offseason. Anyone else read between the lines, and form that same opinion? Don't get me wrong, I think it is a possibility that one of them is moved(which may then cause the other one to ask for a trade), but I don't think it is guaranteed to happen.

I am really on the fence in regards to trading Pominville now for two reasons... 1 - Is his trade value higher now or in the days leading up to the draft? 2 - I have no problem with Regier trading off pending UFA's(Leopold, Regehr, Hecht, etc...) for picks, but I don't know if I trust him to get what this team needs in return for Pominville. I'm leaning towards having Regier's replacement handle the trade. ;)

I think all 3 are here when the deadline passes, but all bets are off this offseason. I don't think they all get moved, but I think it is a possibility that one gets moved in the offseason, and one at the 2014 deadline if the Sabres are in the same place they are this year.
