Battista has studied Quinny's tenure with the Sabres and is raising the game to a whole new level. -

I realize my media content thoughts have nothing to do with making new posters more welcome. Just my personal preference. -

Making SabreSpace more friendly to new posters

I am guilty of some of the things I am about to post, but IMO can make this a better board.... 1 - Long time and frequent posters can be intimidating at times. 2 - There are some newbies who don't want to even try and fit in. Call them trolls or call them ignorant, but either way they are stirring the pot. 3 - Way too often posters try and pass off their opinions as fact. This drives me crazy! 4 - Some posters need to get the last word in and just won't let a discussion/debate/argument go until this happens. 5 - Way too much use of videos and images. I really wish that videos and images would be limited to hockey related content. It wouldn't even bother me if media content was not allowed. All this being said, there is great hockey talk that goes on here and for the most part I enjoy the time I have spent here over the last 10 or so years. -
The Sabres Hockey Hotline with... somebody or other?
LabattBlue replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
My point is why not wait and see how things go in July, Aug & Sep before he proclaims the best place for him to be is in Rochester? -

I agree with that. I didn't mean that Reinhart would be on the 4th line, just that Peters would rather have 12 forwards...all 4th line grinders. -

I have heard this rant several times since the season ended...Peters is hell bent on Reinhart starting the year in Rochester, instead of, "Let's see how he looks in rookie camp, training camp and preseason games. If he is ready he stays, if not, he goes to Rochester". Not sure why it is that hard of a concept for him to understand. Then again, he is probably hoping a 4th line grinder like McCormick or Ellis gets the spot over one of the key future pieces of the Sabres. On a related note, he has been touting McKee for an assistant coach position over and over again. No solid logic behind his position other than him being friends with McKee. What a knucklehead. -
For those not fortunate to get their hands on tix, the open practice was as good as being at a game.

If Anaheim had beaten Chicago, I believe I would have finished 1st or 2nd. Chokers! :censored:

So watch the SC FInals games with one off day in between and then the game after two days off in between, and let me know how much better the game is with more rest. My only point is that I don't like watching hockey when the temps are pushing 80 in WNY. I will move on.
-
From a viewing perspective, IMO, yes having two days off between games makes me lose interest.
-
So if they don't play back to back, it's a mistake free game? I don't buy it, and there are no stats to back it up other than a save pct one posted above. If they are playing injured, their play is subpar whether or not they play back to back. Multiple off days(there are two of them this finals) is even worse.
-
I could not care less how it was done in the 40's and 50's or even last year. There is no reason to have an off day in between back to back home games....none. A season that is between 8-9 months long ending in summer is too long.
-
Back to back for non travel day games? Absolutely should be. And yes shortening this even by one day is better. Why not just drag it into July?
-
YES!!! 15 days to play 7 games. A drawn out Stanley Cup Finals to end an already way too long season.

Was it really? If so, I stand corrected. -

Not saying he has to keep all of them. Well I just hope he is more right than wrong when dealing picks... Two 2nd rounders for Gorges A 1st plus Armia(1st) plus Lemieux(1st pick of 2nd round) in Winnipeg trade Two 2nd rounders for Fasching and Deslauriers -
I have seen Matt & Kim on late night TV but never in person. I love their energy. As someone in their mid 50's, will I be out of place at the concert?

5 Burning Questions, Dicso Dan Bylsma Edition 5/29/15
LabattBlue replied to X. Benedict's topic in The Aud Club
1 - I'd like it to be, but it will be tough to pry it away from Ann Arbor or wherever Men's development team is based. 2 - DDB. I don't like DB because everytime I see that acronym I think of douchebag. 3 - If he doesn't win a cup by year 5 or at least make it to the finals, I think he is outta here. 4 - 5% 5 - Batistta!!! LOL Did I match?(old match game reference)- 43 replies

That would be disappointing. Only a 10-15 point improvement over the last two years of HORRIBLE rosters. I would think 75-80 is a reasonable goal, and if the right pieces are brought in and mesh, maybe 85 points.

Does it really matter what TM is smiling at or why he is smiling? IT'S A SMILE! I just thought it was unusual compared to his usual "i'm mad at the world" look. ...and the more picks you have the more the odds go up that you find a player that will make it to the show. I just don't like the idea of accumulating all these draft picks and then start including them in every single transaction. -

I didn't hear it, but since Schoop is off, I assume he was interviewed by the Bulldog, and considering he can't get 3 words out of his mouth without tripping over his tongue, anyone he interviews sounds good/"more natural". LOL
