  1. Not trying to be a dick and pile on a newbie, but unless you have NHL Center Ice what Florida city has a TV station contracted to broadcast 20-30 Av's games every year?
  2. Actually these were the thoughts of a neanderthal named Lucic shared while in a beer store in Western Canada. :)
  3. I tried before the Finals even started and I was told play will suffer without the breaks even ones that are non-travel days between games.
  4. What time do doors open for the 2015 NHL Draft? Doors open at 4pm for Day 1 (June 26) and 8am for Day 2. Day 1 (Round 1) runs from 7 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. and Day 2 (Rounds 2-7) runs from 10 a.m.- 3 p.m. We recommend arriving early as most tickets are general admission and will be first-come, first-serve for seat availability. A ticket does not guarantee entrance.
  5. Smehlik - Ellis(no one even comes in a close 2nd) Snuggy - McCormick All-time Smehlik - Ric Seiling. Never liked him as a player and having Bossy taken with the very next pick and going on to an all-world career only made me hate Seiling more. Looking at his stats right now, he was a better scorer in his early years than I remember. Still hated him. All-time Snuggy - Matthew Barnaby. There are dozens of others who I could have named over the Sabres 45 year history.
  6. Just realized that I will be at a wedding the night of the draft. Thanks for smartphones and lots of places to wander while checking for updates.

If only DR had believed in suffering back in the summer of 2007. ;)
  8. As he was walking away you should have run him from behind, and then said, that's for Miller!!!
  9. Absolutely 100% agree. Puck bunnies in every city, and you want to settle down at the ripe old age of 20? On a related note...especially if said girlfriend/fiancee' is from Russia, who in turn gets homesick, wants to go back home, and convinces hubby that the KHL isn't all that bad.
  10. I lost faith in Regier long before he was finally fired, but he isn't the first GM in the history of the league to hand out bad contracts. You can probably cite cases on all NHL teams where the pecking order of player salaries does not equal performance.
  11. Not sure how Hamilton phrased the question...or should I say statement since he usually wants to come off as knowing more than the person he is interviewing, but it doesn't mean either of them won't be in Rochester come October. I don't see anything that says 100% they will be Sabres on opening night? What would you like them to say at this point..."Well he haven't had rookie camp, training camp, and any preseason games, but both of them will start the season in the AHL."?
  12. I would love to be one of those opposing fans making a road trip to Vegas to see my team every year.
  13. One more thing about this shot blocking restrictions in terms of creating more offense. I would guess that 90-95% of all shots blocked are NOT by guys laying on the ice. The majority are just getting blocked by sticks, and then a smaller percentage rest blocked by guys getting in shooting lanes. What's next...you can't block a shot with your stick?
  14. Nice article. I'm sure it's not easy to have an event this large run smoothly the 1st time around. Kudos to all Sabres employees involved in the planning of the event.
  15. I would not like any shot blocking restrictions. Scenario...Game 7 of the Finals in a tie game, 1 minute to go, a player is staring at an open net(goalie out of position), and the only thing preventing the puck from going in is an oppositions last gasp lunge in order to keep the puck out of the net.
  16. Agreed 100% This "mentoring" kind of statement is used way too enough here(not just you Hoss). For all we know, a large number of the guys being touted as good for the Sabres because they could be mentors to the youthful core, could be real a$$holes both on and off the ice.
  17. ..and how would that happen without giving away the farm?
  18. I'd be disappointed if they are. Taking Eichel is a no brainer. Quality over quantity. Taking calls on #2 is a waste of TM's time, unless he is seeking humor in the middle of the day.
  19. I didn't say Irbe has to be kicked to the curb...just that he is not the second coming of Harry Houdini.
  20. Doesn't Schaller have more of an offensive skill set than Ellis who had nothing in that regard?
  21. Why does anyone think the Kings would trade Toffoli? Offer sheet him? They will match and then dump cap space. See next sentence. He is the youth they need to inject into their core replacing Richards, Brown and possibly even Williams. They need to reload and make another run at the Cup in 15-16, not stockpile draft picks or prospects who are a year or more away from becoming serious contributors to the team.
