Here you go... This afternoon, the Buffalo Sabres announced that six pending restricted free-agents had received qualifying-offers from the team. Sam Reinhart, Brandon Montour, Casey Mittelstadt, Lawrence Pilut, Victor Olofsson, and Linus Ullmark were all tendered their QO’s before today’s deadline. Still looking for the list of RFA's who were not extended an offer...other than Kahun. [edited]Here are the guys that did not receive a QO.. Remi Elie, Brandon Hickey, Dominik Kahun, and Matthew Spencer were all not extended a qualifying offer. The team could still sign them when free agency opens.

So Barrie out, Brodie in. Is that an upgrade, downgrade, or pretty much an even swap?

Good thing we got him signed quickly on the 1st afternoon of FA. I bet the competition for him was fierce. Now that we got that key signing out of the way, we can just sit back and wait for bit pieces to be filled. Excellent plan. 👍

If true, they paid a guy(Girgs) close to this amount on a 3 year contract, when we could have gone year to year for south of 2 mil and he would have jumped for joy... yet they undervalue Kahun? Color me confused. 😡

I’m in favor of penciling Lazar in as the 13th forward and try to upgrade the 4C position. 3 things to improve in the standings(make the playoffs)... - better goaltending - better PK - more 3rd line production Re-signing a bunch of guys that were already here is not the answer. I hope KA has a plan..whether it is F/A or trades. The things above are not getting fixed from within...at least not this year.

After looking at his career stats, I now understand why they dumped him for next to nothing. Guy can’t stay healthy, and never has going back to his junior days, and almost a 5mil cap hit for 20-21.

You did remind me of one other thing... Get rid of Montour. I dislike his game more than any other Sabre. While RK neutered our franchise dman all season, Montour recklessly skated around the offensive zone every time I flipped a game on.

My wish list... 1 - Backup goalie upgrade. Too many good choices on the market that are better than Hutton. Buy him out, send to Rochester, or give him the Moulson treatment...I don’t care. 2 - Physical 3rd pairing LD. 3 - A 3C who is defensively sound and can pitch in 30-35 points. 4 - A 4C who is a pest and a good PK’er. There should be one out there for 1-1.5mil.

Not that Danault is going anywhere now that Domi has been traded, but if he was, I’d consider that to be a much more significant move than Staal...now and later.

If Staal is the biggest move(name) they bring in, it will be a very disappointing off-season. 😞
