  1. It isn't an option, but I'd go 5 x 6.0 or 5 x 6.5 tops
  2. If nothing else, faceoffs are a big deal at the start of a PP. The team on the PP is gifted an o-zone faceoff to start the PP. Win the faceoff, you setup your PP and go. Lose that same faceoff, the puck is cleared, and probably 20-30 seconds are off the penalty time by the time you are set back up in the opposing teams end.
  3. - Minimal roster deadweight i.e. Skinner and Okposo - Top half of the NHL PP and PK - Top 10 starting Goalie...and backup ranking in the Top 20. - Grit sprinkled throughout the forward and blueline groups. - Dominating top line and two all-star caliber defensemen - Excellent FO and coaching staff
  4. Good to hear he is progressing. Because of his pestiness/grit, I'm hoping he can be an NHL 3rd line/4th line tweener by 22-23...and his OHL scoring numbers over two years were good enough that he has some promise in that regard also.
  5. Hahahaha. Sorry about that!
  6. Regarding Borgen...I wonder if Adams and Co. are planning on not playing Borgen for the last 10 games, hoping that if they leave him unprotected, because of the small sample size of games, Seattle passes on him. Wishful thinking on my part?
  7. I'm saying I don't want him as the Sabres #2 goalie in 21-22. Not sure where the confusion was?
  8. Good for him. That being said, I hope they are not fooled into thinking he can be the #2 for next year. Hutton has also had some nice small run of games over his time with the Sabres, and then fell apart.
  9. This is what happens when you have little grit in your lineup. Someone wants an AHL goon brought up. Fix the roster problem by mixing in more NHL players with grit, and then no one will suggest the extreme alternative.
  10. Well, call me skeptical. Bring them all back, hire Granato, make the playoffs, and make me choke on my words. 😉
  11. Well...sign him up long term, and bring the entire band back...Jack, Risto, Reinhart, McCabe, Ullmark, and the untradeable part of the core(Skinner and KO). Bring back Hall too! How can that plan fail?
  12. Yes!!!!! Just keep bringing back the same core players year after year...and then mix that in with a new HC(at least one many are advocating for) whose NHL resume' is limited. Playoffs here we come! ...and please don't compare Reinhart to ROR they are not even remotely close in talent level.
  13. I did not know Samuelsson was going to be in the lineup. I wish I had tuned in. I’m gad they won and some of the kids have shown improved play under Granato.
  14. Reinhart has been part of a core on a team that has sucked for the 5 or so years he has been here. You make millions of dollars to play a game, and will make even more going forward. Act like a professional(take the high road) and answer a few questions each day. Instead, you come across as a spoiled brat who is holding a grudge against the beat reporters. IMO...sell high!
  15. Well if they keep the core together, make minor changes, and become a playoff team in 21-22, I will be first in line to be fitted for my dunce cap. 😂
  16. This team needs more than a backup goalie upgrade and bottom of the roster tweaks. The core needs to be shook up. My recommendation....Jack stays(unless he taps out), Risto and Reinhart go.
  17. .and Kane, ROR, Kulikov, Sekera, Foligno, Peterson, Compher, Zadorov, Armia. Thats all I’ve got off the top of my head. 😂
  18. Yes...and it's sad that this was the biggest need last summer, and yet NOTHING was done to address it.
  19. I'm on record, unless Jack asks out, and the core needs a shake up(which it does), I put Reinhart and Risto on the block instead of Jack.
  20. Pegula going to Rochester for a game with the GM? He really has too much free time on his hands...and gives further credence that there is some level of meddling going on.
  21. If there are comparable grades among the top 5, I'd much rather go with a center or wing.
  22. I never cared for Jeff Marek who comes across as a I'm smarter than you "hockey know it all". I wouldn't send him to hell, but I would like to see him go over Niagara Falls in a kayak.
  23. Typical Sabres...does he need surgery or not?
  24. Especially the big money deals. A good GM should be able to plug some holes with low end F/A's with low cost/term committments.
  25. Then I guess he is a "bad person". Bottom line....just glad he is gone. Is definitely in the running for worst Sabres HC in their 50 year history.
