Isles picked Connolly 5th, Pyatt 8th And Mezei 10th that year. I remember the Isles made the Peca trade and then traded the 2nd pick (Spezza) And Chara to the Sens for Yashin. And the pundents were all predicting years of dominance for the Isles moving forward.

VO is like Liam Neeson, he has a very specific set of skills. I think we can all agree what type of player he is. 28 goal scorers (30 if he wasn’t benched for the other parts of his game) that can finish on the PP do have value around the league. There are teams that need finishers badly. As part of a package VO can easily be moved. Calgary are desperate for scoring wingers.

I think: Benson-Savoie-Wahlberg or Wahlberg-Savoie-Benson Could be a great line in a few years. Wahlberg adding the size and muscle to compliment the all world skills and chemistry of Savoie-Benson. Wahlberg has the skating to play with those two as well. Sabres will have some great forward options over the next several years.
