  1. His numbers have been consistent but he fell a bit last season. Would he be a big upgrade in this system over UPL or Comrie? His cap hit is $1.8 the same as Comrie. You could acquire him for a pick as the Habs are almost $4 million over the cap.
  2. https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/former-maple-leafs-first-round-pick-rodion-amirov-passes-away-at-21/ Brutal news
  3. Boston will be an interesting team this year. They have lost a lot.
  4. Both Sportsnet and TSN have connected Petry to us in the past couple days.
  5. When is this trade happening and what happened to the salary cap?
  6. According to Sportsnet in Canada, Buffalo, Detroit and Dallas are interested in Petry.
  7. I think your outlook on Topias is a bit tainted by your hatred of the pick in the 2nd round. This is a big year for him. He needs to take a step.
  8. Seravalli said not one team talked to Minny at the deadline about Dumba. Combination of contract but also his declined play. Said Dumba misread the market for him in free agency and said he should have taken less to go to a better team and see if he could rebuild his game and rep.
  9. Is Dumba the better player moving forward or the more well known name at this point?
  10. McDavid’s agent to be named President of the Oilers. Oh Boy https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/player-agent-jeff-jackson-joins-oilers-as-ceo-of-hockey-operations/
  11. The more I watch of him the more I like the pick. Kid plays the game the way every team hopes their dmen will play but don’t draft as high as the “puck movers”. I have a feeling Benson, Wahlberg, Strbak is going to be a very nice top of the draft for the Sabres.

  13. What a joke. They couldn’t even say what the injury is since they haven’t thought it up yet
  14. Don’t they have 48 hours after the arb. Settlement to buyout players? Settlement came down Sunday afternoon so if they don’t buy anyone out today they lose that option.
  15. I don’t think he is signed with the organization but what I meant was Duff and Marty that do the official show have him on all the time to discuss prospects and he is on with them during the draft to break down the picks. He also did the 3 on 3 game and will probably be involved with the prospects tournament.
  16. Bakes really knows his stuff. He’s been doing it along time and I’m glad the Sabres organization brought him into the fold with draft and prospect coverage.
  17. Panocha will now be there. I like Bakes lineup he laid out: Benson M. Savoie Rosen Neuchev Kulich Kisakov Cederqvist Kozak Nadeau Fiddler Schultz Sherk Medima Novikov Johnson Lindgren Komarov Panocha N. Savoie (Jandric, Metsa) Ratzliff invite
  18. https://strategyonline.ca/2023/03/01/rbc-drafts-auston-matthews-for-big-vantage-campaign/ As someone who has sat through his commercials far too many times I can confirm this.😁
  19. They are trying to figure out how to sign their starting goalie while being $8.8 million over the cap already.
  20. Connolly was one of the most purely talented players the Sabres have ever had. The Ottawa game was the high point. What could have been that season. And as you said what could have been for Connolly without the injuries. Pyatt was a great prospect at the time too but never developed the way people thought he would. Losing Peca hurt but by that time it was well past the point of being repaired and he had to go. The return at the time was very good, two players picked in the top 8 of the 1999 draft. Isles picked Connolly 5th, Pyatt 8th And Mezei 10th that year. I remember the Isles made the Peca trade and then traded the 2nd pick (Spezza) And Chara to the Sens for Yashin. And the pundents were all predicting years of dominance for the Isles moving forward.
  21. Not this year but next year he could Gaustad his way into the lineup.
  22. VO is like Liam Neeson, he has a very specific set of skills. I think we can all agree what type of player he is. 28 goal scorers (30 if he wasn’t benched for the other parts of his game) that can finish on the PP do have value around the league. There are teams that need finishers badly. As part of a package VO can easily be moved. Calgary are desperate for scoring wingers.
  23. I thought your post was going in an entirely different direction until I saw the word “goalie”😛😂
  24. I think: Benson-Savoie-Wahlberg or Wahlberg-Savoie-Benson Could be a great line in a few years. Wahlberg adding the size and muscle to compliment the all world skills and chemistry of Savoie-Benson. Wahlberg has the skating to play with those two as well. Sabres will have some great forward options over the next several years.
  25. Eklund from Hockeybuzz.com. His track record is far from solid
