I think someone jumps on him as high as number 2. His Olympics are going to catapult him very high on some teams lists.
-
His whole argument seems to be Cooley plays faster so that justifies it.

I would send Matthias down and showcase Hagg until the deadline. Miller, Hagg, Eakin, Vinnie, Jankowski, Anderson are on the trade deadline depth moves watch. They won’t return a ton but those are the guys other teams will be looking at as playoff depth adds on low salaries especially if Buffalo retains on Miller or Hagg.

Jiricek is a question mark for me until we see what his IQ is. Drafting another Risto early will not move this team forward. Personally I think you can have too many Russians on a team. Not a big fan of drafting Yurov unless he is head and shoulders above the other options at the Sabres pick. You have to hope Polpatov and Kisakov make it after spending high picks on them and Novikov looks like a keeper for the back end. I think I feel underwhelmed because we haven’t seen a lot of these guys for 2 years and it leads to a lot of questions about guys, even in the top 10. Wright hasn’t taken off, guys like Cooley, Savoie, Nazar are small, has Nemec peaked as far as upside already, Kemell has disappeared, Lambert has character questions, Jiricek need to see what his IQ is. Slafkovsky seems like the home run swing pick in the top 10. I’m sure these guys will turn out fine, just seems like an underwhelming group especially compared to the 23 group that looks like it will have a lot of high end depth to it.

Where is Jiricek on the Risto scale meaning where is his hockey IQ?

https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/peters-mid-season-2022-nhl-draft-rankings/ The more rankings I see the less enthused I get for this draft.
-
Not to nitpick but you mean Braeden Schneider who was taken 19th by the NYR. Sanderson is LHD Sens took right before Drysdale. What are Nemec’s and Jircek’s defensive games like because that is what the Sabres really need on the backend, a RHD that can anchor Dahlin or Power and let them play their game offensively.

Mitts after seeing the lines: “I’m still injured.”😁

Now that Slafkovsky is obviously going 1st OA How is that going to change everything?😛 The Sabres pick this year will really be dictated by their draft position and where the teams picking in front of them see these players. Which is always the case but this year there doesn’t seem to be any real structure of where these kids are ranked and it could be a real free for all as far as where players are picked this season. This year more then any I don’t think the draft sites rankings will match up with the individual team’s internal rankings.

Tage Thompson's Upside? What Do You Think?
Flashsabre replied to bob_sauve28's topic in The Aud Club
As the kids like to say, Tage is a unicorn. No other team in the league can throw a 6’7 offensive centre over the boards. Man what a load Tage and Tuch would be in a playoff series. He has all the physical tools it is just a matter of him realizing mentally that he can dominate consistently. -
Updated Sabres Prospect Pool 2021 and beyond

In a strange way Krebs being called up and Quinn being injured is helping JJ’s development in that he has stepped into the “I’m the Man” role for the Amerks. Kid has looked great lately. Keep it up!! -

As people have said, this team is fun to watch. For me, for the first time in a long time I can see the puzzle for a good team. The outside pieces are all snapping together and there are enough pieces on the table to see it all fitting together. Put your hands up if before the season you had Skinner and Tage part of a legit top line for the Sabres. Tuch is a blessing. He won’t be as naturally talented as Jack but I think he will be more impactful to the team when you factor in on ice production, enthusiasm for the organization, leadership and culture building. Finally a captain that should be captain. Guys like Cozens and Krebs are not yet wheee they will be as polished players but you see the flashes of what is to come. My biggest takeaway is that the future core of Tuch, Tage, Dahlin, Cozens, Krebs, Quinn, Power all have good attitudes. I would add Mitts but the kid needs a to catch a health break first. There is a lot of lifting to do still but I think the train is finally on the track. One of the young goalies stepping up (I think Levi) will be huge to taking the next step. There is some more suffering to come but it is worth sitting through to watch them grow. -

LOL Toker. Why the heck is he on his knees. That goal is inexcusable. -
NHL Rumors and Trade Speculation 2021-22 Season

I hope Adams is the third team in a couple deals to take on some salary and gain assets. It would allow him to move whoever he wants without worrying about the cap floor. -

Nice goal by Tage Lindros!😁 -
Dahlin and Power will be known for their offensive chops and ability to move the puck. They will not be known for their defensive chops like most young top dmen. They need to be on separate pairs anchored on the right side by dmen that are strong defensively. I don’t know if those players are on the roster. If they could find two McKenzie Weegars that would be great.😁

I’m not rooting for Canada to lose but their lineup isn’t very strong. Most of the players are vet role players on European teams. The kids (Power, Johnson, McTavish, Levi) are their most talented guys but there are not enough of them or aren’t in the lineup🤪

Again, I couldn’t hear the whole conversation but Healy and Poulin were talking about who is in charge of the lineup and then I heard Healy say “Don’t do it Buffalo” So I am jumping to conclusions but I think that is what the conversation was.

I couldn’t hear but it sounded like Healy and Poulin at the intermission were talking about Buffalo pulling Levi from the tournament.
