I’m sorry but if the plan for next year is to bring back Anderson for an Anderson/UPL pair then that is a joke. Anderson is a great guy but is in his forties and is clocking in at around a .903 sv% the last 3-4 years. That isn’t good enough. UPL has proven nothing and is not dominating in the AHL. Go get a legit starter. They have no idea where UPL, Levi or Portillo are going to end up. Get a proven guy. They have to spend money to get to the cap floor.

This team is learning. This is Murder’s Row and they are hanging tough. Bad goaltending and defensive lapses are their downfall at the moment. These guys are ready to compete next season with consistent quality goaltending. It is on Adams to shore that up this offseason.

And Levi was named first team All American whatever that means. They should make McKay play for North Eastern next year and Levi for Minn St. and see how the numbers shake out.

Good for Levi. Watching Minnesota St play I didn’t think McKay should be a Hobey finalist. They play such a sound defensive system that they very rarely give up decent chances against. Not saying McKay isn’t A good goalie but he didn’t get nearly the work or shot quality against that Levi got. I find the College Awards weird. Power gets Big 10 First All Star, Hughes is Big10 Second All Star yet Hughes gets the Hobey nominee. Levi wins goalie of the year over McKay yet McKay is the Hobey finalist.

Not really. Michigan was a lot like the Leafs. A lot of big names but Pearson never instilled a defensive system. In a one and done tournament, defensive teams that can lock it down usually fare better. I mean it went to OT, one bounce either way could end it and 3 Michigan forwards over skate the puck at their own blue line and the game is over seconds later.

Good interview. I like the answer that they have a list of guys they are interested in that fit the culture and analytically will help on the ice. They have a plan in place let’s see if they can execute it.

This came about because someone suggested suddenly turning Butcher into a forward and have him replace Eakin for the rest of the season. That is not a good idea. Eakin at least adds face offs where Butcher would add nothing. They need to move on from Eakin but he is here for now.

Nope. Eakin has played better with Okposo and Girgs and is the centre thad can actually win a draw.
