  1. Ben Meyers won’t come here. There really isn’t a Centre spot for him on the NHL team. I think Eakin’s spot goes to Asplund or Krebs who are centres playing the wing at the moment. His hometown team Minnesota could put him in the lineup and let him playoff games this season. And they need cheap talent with that cap mess they are about to be in. Livingstone from Minn St. is interesting. He is a RHD.
  2. Then a RHD or energy centre would be nice for org depth.
  3. Yeah but we have to sign Eakin to an extension first.😛 I think Quinn can be an 80 point player. A full year with Tuch and Skinner could get Tage there.
  4. How does it work with roster numbers? If someone signs an ATO does that still count? I think Sabres are close to the 50 contract limit so outside of Power, Johnson, Levi, Portillo is there space to sign anyone else?
  5. Winnipeg and Comrie crapping the bed in Toronto. Why did they not play Comrie in Buffalo and play Hellebuyck in Toronto? And watching the Chicago- Florida game, Hawks might have an all time awful defence corps. Lomberg skates by their dmen like they were 2 pylons places at the blue line.
  6. Another interesting UFA winger is Mikayev from the Leafs. Big, elite wheels, works his butt off.
  7. Mason Marchment and Nichuskin are two interesting UFA wingers. Marchment is having a breakout offensive year in Florida. Brings size, toughness and compete. Nichuskin is a giant version of Hinny, will score 20+ this season. Both playing for good teams that probably won’t be able to afford them.
  8. Let’s look at the human side for a moment. Levi goes to NE last season but is injured and can’t play at all. Comes in this year and sets the world on fire. He is asked to go to the Olympics, sacrificing playing in the Bean Pot tournament in the process. Goes to China and doesn’t get a second of ice time. Makes it to the Frozen Four tournament only to see his misplay end his team’s season. Has one of the best statistical season yet gets snubbed for many awards. I can see where Levi might be going through some emotions about the year and his next move.
  9. In Friedman’s 32 Thoughts he says Sabres have informed Anderson they want him back next season. As a 3rd goalie sure but if the idea is a UPL-Anderson tandem then yikes.
  10. From Friedman’s 32 Thoughts this morning: 17. The Sabres have done an excellent job identifying two young goaltending talents, but are waiting to find out if they can sign either one. They should know in the next day or so if Northeastern’s Devon Levi is joining the Sabres or going back to college. He was acquired in the Sam Reinhart trade, and his rights belong to Buffalo for more two more years. The other is Michigan’s Erik Portillo, drafted 67th in 2019. He’s with the Wolverines at the Frozen Four, so we won’t know until after — but Portillo is one year from unrestricted free agency.
  11. Vegas is 1 point up on Dallas. Dallas has 4 games in hand. Vegas is 2 points up on Winnipeg. Winnipeg has 1 game in hand.
  12. Anderson is at 3.07 gaa and .902 sv%. That is not good. Tokarski is a tire fire. Anderson is a great guy and good story but there should be no talk of bringing him back. They have to improve in net if they want to take the next step.
  13. That was a garbage call on Wheeler’s goal. stack another good effort and another point. What amazes me is the Sabres are doing this with bad goaltending and bad special teams. Imagine this team with middle of the league goaltending and average PP and PK
  14. That’s no goal.Wheeler stopped forward momentum
  15. Kyle Connor and Nate Schmidt have been placed in Covid protocol. Big loss for Jets tonight (And big loss for Jets tonight incoming)😁
  16. But did the Pegula Jet take him to Montreal? I mean if we can’t track the Pegula Jet then it’s not authentic😛😀
  17. Same here. Player A is Geekie not sure about B or C. I have always found Pronman’s skating rankings to be dicey.
  18. Remember we are not locked in here with those teams, they are locked in here with us!😛😁
  19. Why are you worried? He is either signing or going back for another season of college. At the end of that year he still is Sabres property. If at the end of next season he decides to go back yet again then he will never be the type of person to lead you anywhere anyways. Then you trade him at that point.
  20. Slafkovsky is going top 3 probably top 2.
  21. Ask the Oilers and Leafs how having multiple superstar forwards has helped them win a Cup. The Hasek Sabres had a superstar goalie and a lot of depth. The Co Captains teams had no superstar but a lot of high end talent and depth. Both teams came close. This team is shaping up to have a lot of talented depth. It will have a superstar dman. Power and Quinn should be stars, one might turn into a superstar. Superstars are great but a team of talented depth is usually better if the superstar isn’t properly supported. A quality goalie is the first step.
  22. The way this team is trending I am hoping for a Matthew Savoie to fall to 9th. I think the the 2 RHD will be gone and I think some surprise picks will be made early. Savoie is smaller but has an all world skill set. If not a guy like Nazar. Those two have a skill and compete blend I think is becoming an identity for the Sabres.
  23. For us poor people without Athletic subscriptions, what don’t you like bout his latest rankings? I have never been a fan of Pronman myself.
