BLOW IT UP. All Eichel Reinhart and Risto know here is losing, not coming close to sniffing the playoffs. I really can’t blame them. The amount of coaches and front office mistakes they have been through with nothing to show for it and no light at the end of the tunnel. Absolutely nothing points to this team being a playoff team again. It absolutely sucks but these guys are done with being here in a losing environment. Tear it down to the studs. I wonder if players like Beniers and Power will get a look at the World Championships? They haven’t played in so long and all looks are crucial this season. Eklund will play for Sweden. I can’t see a ton of NHL guys being enthralled with the idea of going to the Worlds this season with the pandemic so maybe some kids get a chance to step in.

Please sell us on Guenther. I just watched a mediocre player at the U18s. Where is all this offence coming from? He played nothing like a top pick. Was probably the 5th or 6th best draft eligible player on Canada. He is a passenger that needs help to produce offence. Just don’t see it at all with him.

To answer your question, yes this is a draft to do it but not to far. Maybe a couple spots if you have someone in mind you know you could get 3 or 4. But never trade out of the top 5. All the players at the top seem to be in the same tier so if someone wants to give you a bucketful of assets to move down a few spots and you can still get your guy then sure.

I wouldn’t say that. Both look like superstars and the top pick in the next 2 drafts. Wright had 4 points today and looks every bit the player Bedard is and is bigger. Both of them have elite NHL shots at 16 and 15, just crazy!!

Another disappointing game for Guenther. Canada wins 8-1 and he was invisible. They took him off Wright’s line and he was lost, no points. Meanwhile they added Bedard to Wright’s line and Wright had a goal and 3 assists and Bedard had a hat trick. I don’t want to spend a top pick on a guy who is a passenger on a line. Give me Beniers who leaves it all on the ice every shift.

This is a strong possibility. Reinhart was drafted in 2014 and never sniffed the playoffs. He is one season from UFA. Does he want to commit here long term? Nothing is trending towards the Sabres being a playoff team next year. Eichel is a year away from his no trade kicking in. Does he want to be here? If no, move him before it kicks in. We saw the disaster of the Hall deal where the player holds the hammer. If this sad reality happens then load up on young talent and top picks. We would all love this to be turned around tomorrow but this “rebuild” was botched so badly that they might have to reset the rebuild. The fans will be furious but there might be no choice if Reinhart and Eichel want fresh starts.

He has been looking like a passenger at the U18s. Not a guy that can drive a line. Canada has had an easy round robin and he has not dominated at all. He has been outshined by guys like Clarke, McTavish, Pinelli and the underagers like Wright and Bedard.

Who is the 80 point winger because Guenther is looking nothing like that.

Guenther is hit or miss for me. Definitely behind Beniers and Eklund for me up front.
