Guys lay off Philly. They were missing their franchise dman. 😁 I know our goaltending has been bad since Miller but I have never seen an organization with worse luck or ability to identify goaltending like the Flyers. Why anyone would willingly take Martin Jones is beyond me.

He looks terrible right now. Something must be going on mentally.

Helle looked absolutely awful last game. Just an isolated game but boy was that ugly.

That year had a lot going on. The draft was in Buffalo. Murray wanted a young skilled winger for Eichel. The Pegulas and Chychruns were neighbors in Florida. Alot of fans were on the Sergachev bandwagon. I know they interviewed MacAvoy a lot, maybe 3 times. Hindsight is 20/20. The organization is in a lot better spot now with the front office, scouting, development, etc.

Man I do really miss Cal Petersen’s .895 sv%. We would be playoff bound with that quality goaltending.

This is an excellent listen. It is about an hour long but he talks about Power, Rosen, talks about wanting to draft MacAvoy. A lot of insight about scouting. He said he will come on in the summer to talk about the upcoming draft.

I think this will be a fit draft and if the number 2 team wants a centre then a Cooley might go there. But I do believe Slafkovsky and Nemec will be in most teams top 5. Nemec putting up big playoff points while Jiricek isn’t playing is probably tipping the scales a bit. I have read that some teams have Chelsey really high, a couple potentially in the top 10. I think if the Sabres draft 8 or 9 we will be surprised at a couple names on the board there.

Can we talk about how awful Lehner looked on that. Bellyflopped into the pool. Ben Meyers signs with Colorado. Shocked that the Wild missed on him. Minnesota kid, Minnesota high school star, Minnesota college star. Minnesota desperate for cheap talent with salary crunch coming. I wonder if the Avs told him he can replace Kadri next year in the top 6 to close the deal.

The thing with Price is mental and physical health. If he had 2 years left I would pull the trigger but at that length it is a tough sell unless Habs are retaining 50%!and asking for nothing back.

And the scary part is Levi doesn’t think he is good enough yet. Sometimes you just get a special feeling watching a goalie play that he will be great I think that is what we are looking at with Levi.

Kuemper is my grand slam signing but if they could sign Husso to pair with UPL as a Finnish Connection that would be solid too. Husso has vastly outplayed Binnington but the Blues are stuck with Binnington’s anchor contract. I think Husso sits 3rd in the league in goals saved above replacement. He is just coming into that age range that most goalies start to really find their game. And no I don’t give a crap about the Hutton-Blues situation, totally different goalies and teams.
