Just thinking of where I was with this team at the end of the past few years and how much more hope and excitement for this offseason and moving forward. Really hoping for: 1) Amerks sneak in and the kids develop some more. 2) Have a good draft and add some more highs end young pieces. 3) Spend the money smartly. Really upgrade in net and add a good piece on the back end.

If that happened then the pick would defer to 2023 with no protection. The top 10 of the 2023 draft will be high end but no one knows where the dips will be after that. You are right but with this draft I have a feeling that the tiers will be quite different for a lot of teams. It will be hard to know who will be available at each spot.
