Kuemper is the only proven goalie. Campbell had 1 good half season with the Leafs. If Edmonton signs him long term they will regret it. Everyone else is a risk. Comrie had great numbers and analytics in 20 games. Basically the same as Husso but with a smaller sample size. He is still young and is looking for an opportunity to start. He is the best of what is available outside of Kuemper.

Chase Coward is interesting. He had a solid season, great playoffs and was invited to Canada’s WJC summer camp.

The Hawks will be the dumping ground for every bad contract. If they move Kane and Toews that is over $20 million out the door. They will probably have to retain on Toews but still will be well under the cap floor. Chicago could be the key to this offseason. Teams like Philly are trying to unload contracts in order to go after different players. A lot of teams are looking to free up space to go big fishing or tripping some of their key guys. Chicago want draft picks and to ice a horrible team.

Put him with Mitts and Mitts has that breakout year that helps this team greatly. He put people in the seats, sells merchandise and helps change the perception of players and agents around the league. He helps improve all the players around him and pushes this team forward.

That is 38 points in 60+ games playing with McDavid and Draisatl. He is probably a 20 point winger with other linemates. He has no hockey sense. Hard Pass

I would love to see Kane come to Buffalo. Look at the chemistry he had with DeBrincat. Put him on the right side with Mitts and Quinn and I guarantee you those two players develop and have great seasons. Adding Kane puts people in the seats and makes it a lot easier for this team to attract a goalie and some other FAs. This move would come from Terry.

It is not going to take Quinn or Peterka. The Hawks won’t have leverage. Kane is a UFA after the year.They want to stink for a few years. I wouldn’t expect to see much of him at development camp. If he was just medically cleared but has to gain strength back in his shoulder I doubt he does much on ice.

I think we all think we know but we really have no idea just how dysfunctional the Sabres were under Murray and Botts. Forton has done interviews where he said none of the area scouts would talk to each other and no one knew about the players the others were focusing on. Under Ralph we saw him alienate Taylor and the Amerks. The mess of the last decade has been earned by awful hires and leadership. I think we are on the right track. It truly sounds like everyone is working together and communicating on all levels. Analytics and scouting working hand in hand is terrific. When you can marry the two you get the best results. The prospect pool is stocked and now developing them is the key. Adams is serious about patience and doing this right and I like it. Hopefully this leads to 10-15 years of playoff runs to come.

Forton says that Seamus Kotyuk, the goalie development coach has a ton of connections in Finland with the teams and goalie coaches over there. Sounds like he might have had a hand in them focusing on Leinonen.

Forton said he played midget hockey and then jumped to the USHL and just took off the 2nd half of the year. Forton has a lot of connections at UCONN. Said he will go back to USHL next year but UCONN was considering bringing him in for this upcoming season so they will have to talk about it. Seems like a player that might take off offensively.

Did any team draft him in the CHL import draft and is he even allowed to come over and play?
