  1. Vegas now heats up the market. They are aggressive and now other teams like Minny have pressure to nut up with their best offer or else.
  2. Breaking News- “Landeskog, Hamilton, Grubauer and Suter all signing with the Leafs for MASSIVE discounts just for the honour of pulling the Maple Leaf over their head.” -Social Media tomorrow.😀
  3. But points don’t tell the whole story with dmen. Those are all good players. Johnson looks like he might be a decade long NHLer with his skating and brains. Good value where he was picked but those other players maybe stars, time will tell.
  4. They need to get a stud centre prospect back in the deal. They have avoided focusing on centres for a few drafts now. No stud centre prospect in deal=no deal. Rossi, Krebs, Zegras, they need one to round out the forward group.
  5. Looks like some interesting names will possibly entering the FA pool.
  6. I love that they swung for the fences this year on high end skill. Of all years, this was the one to do it with the chaos Covid played on everything. Drafting Russians and CHL players beyond the 1st round, what a concept!!😀
  7. Read in an article or just speculation? I mean they do have to get to the floor. Moving out Jack, Sam and Risto is almost $20 million off the books.
  8. I think you are going a little crazy. Every player is different. Wright is the prize next season. Franchise centre that plays two way and is a natural born leader, something Jack never was. That is the big difference between the two players. High, high character with Wright as compared to Eichel. Doesn't have Jack's flashiness but gets results. Savoie I don't get as excited for. Kid has talent but has been knocked out twice with massive hits. His career won't be long if he doesn't become much more aware. Lambert has blazing speed and high end skill, plays wing. Bedard is very talented but this year will show where he belongs on the Next One scale. The Russian is super talented too. But McDavid, Eichel even McKinnon have won a combined Jack Squat. Getting one player means nothing. You have to know how to build a winning team and Buffalo has shown no clue to that. There are no guarantees with a lottery and with Star players.
  9. If Montreal is offering Suzuki in a deal then I am listening big time. Suzuki and Kok or Caufield as good a base as any other offer BUT Suzuki has to be included. Someone who is named the same as SJ's recent 1st round pick mentioned as much not that that means anything but there seems to be a lot of smoke around the Habs with Weber and his salary gone. But moving Jack in division means it has to hurt that team more as far as assets coming back.
  10. The Eichel, Reinhart and Risto core won absolutely nothing and they all want out. The Sabre could keep everything in tact and then watch Reinhart and Risto walk for nothing next summer, Jack demand out with his No trade kicked in and then it becomes a scorched Earth rebuild with no pieces back to build with.
  11. I have seen people angry because he was a 7th round pick but that is ridiculous. He was every bit the goalie Knight was at the WJCs. His biggest problem is he hasn't had enough exposure, play on a big stage. Kid was amazing for his Carleton Place team. To step from that level to the WJCs, beat out the other goalies who have played on the big stage and then be lights out in the tournament was huge but he needs to do it consistently at a bigger stage. College will be a chance. He is so cool and calm in the pipes. Don't get fooled by size. You can play or you can't.
  12. I think you will see vets who are "really good pros" aka Matt Ellis types brought in on 1-2 year deals to help lead the kids in how to play the right way.
  13. Ofcourse it is but you have to frame it as "developing the young core". This team finished last OA with Eichel, Hall, Reinhart, Risto, Staal all playing some games this year. How do you think it will go with them playing no games next year. You are not going to ice the team they are next season and pretend to be contenders. Their incompetence has led to this. Does it need to happen, yes, they need to reset and start again. Does it suck, Yes, but it is what it is. I think they will be competitive in games this season but they won't be good. But if they young guys come along developmentally then it is not a straight "Tank" season, some positives will come from it.
  14. Please Lundell, please Lundell, please Lundell
  15. Who was being picked at #13 that you wouldn’t have to wait for? That literally makes no sense. Anyone picked there is 2-3 years away. Kid could be electric.
  16. Wow, Reino and Seth Jones were both trending and I was like Ruh ROh. Glad to say it is unrelated, just chatter about both players.
  17. Are people really trying to complain about this deal? OMG. the same people who wanted to trow him away in Expansion. I thought all the message board experts said he was only worth a 3rd or 4th round pick.
  18. Dundon apparently puts a value on someone and that is all he is willing to pay, no negotiations. That is why Brindamour took much less to stay.
  19. Guerin doesn’t strike me as a “we better be very cautious with the cap situation” type of guy. He is more the “I’m going all in on what I want and we will figure that stuff out later. I think Eichel to Minny for Rossi, Boldy,++ would be the best return unless Anaheim sweeps in at the last second with both Zegras and 3OA on the table. Just not to NYR for a collection of mediocre stuff.
  20. OR Adams isn't screwing around and won't release medical records until a team come with an offer he likes.
  21. A whole bunch of Dreger nothingness. Eichel, Sam and Risto may be moved or they might not. Lots of flexibility in the marketplace. I want my 2 minutes back.
  22. Yes they are. I tried to ETransfer an offer to the Pegulas but my credit card was declined. I will let you guys know if anything changes.😜😁
  23. I don’t understand these takes about losing Borgen being bad asset management. What were the alternatives? Exposing Risto instead would be bad asset management. He will bring a better return then Borgen. The rumours of draft pick asking prices in order to choose a specific player were 1st round picks. That is bad asset management. Losing a tweener 3rd pairing dman is not life or death. Losing him and not replacing the element he brings to a lineup is a mistake but there are plenty of options out there.
  24. The difference between Zegras and Rossi is a severe case of Covid. We don’t know how that effects Rossi long term but if he is over it and healthy I think his peak NHL years will be as good or better then Zegras. Zegras is an offensive star while Rossi plays well all over the ice, 200 feet if you will.
