  1. I think you are right. I was thinking about 1st and 2nd but as it is two separate draws then yeah 6th would be the spot.
  2. A pick can only move up 10 spots. If Vegas won the lottery they would move up to 6th. If they won the second slot they could move up to 7th. They cannot be bumped back. So 6th, 7th or 16th are the options. The pick is top 10 protected. So if they move up then they keep the pick and Sabres get their 2023 pick.
  3. Watching the Rags implode is fantastic. Their saviour has fallen apart in net and all their untouchable young players are invisible.
  4. LOL Friday night I went to Belleville to watch the Sens-Amerks playoff game. We could see into the Sens box. Dorian, MCGuire and about 8 other execs were in the box. The other 9 guys were gathering and talking and McGuire was sitting by himself. No one would talk to him. He must be a way bigger a**hole then we even think. I have a feeling that Pierre convinced Melnyk to hire him and when he passed away Dorian couldn’t wait to can McGuire.
  5. I wonder where this leaves Lane Lambert? Will he take over with the Isles or go somewhere else as HC or follow Trotz to his next destination.
  6. Why? Laaksonen has had the better career in the AHL so far.
  7. Imagine paying $11 million for Tavares for the next 4 years.
  8. It was a general statement because I have seen people on more then a couple sites that are locked in on him. I just don’t see it. I agree with you about the concept of a physical, defensive shutdown type to round out the corps.
  9. What is The obsession with Connor Murphy? It is right up there with the obsession over Miles Wood. Murphy doesn’t impress me at all.
  10. Breaking News: Vegas announce Bill Foley as GM and Head Coach of the Golden Knights.😁
  11. https://thehockeywriters.com/2022-nhl-draft-rankings-may-baracchini/ Savoie falling to 9th would be great.
  12. I think the NHL really needs to look at teams carrying 3 goalies full time with the 3rd goalie getting a $1 million that doesn’t count against the cap. So many injuries to goalies these days. A guy like Anderson would be the perfect 3rd goalie option. There are guys in their 30s who don’t want to play in the AHL but would be good insurance as a 3rd option on an NHL roster.
  13. Didn’t realize Comrie was a UFA. I wouldn’t mind him if the big options don’t pan out.
  14. I agree except sending him back to Kingston is not a positive. They have a terrible track record of developing players and putting good teams on the ice dating back decades. If you could get him moved to a better team then it would be a positive move for Wright. The Hunter brothers in London are the gold standard for preparing players to be productive pros.
  15. I saw you guys at the game.😀 I couldn’t tell, did you have the Eichel name taped over?
  16. That has been his game all year. He might need to go to Arizona or Seattle where they would be more forgiving early on. Being drafted to Montreal would be a nightmare for him. That market would eat him alive. When my dad was young his friend was probably the best 15 year old player in Canada. But that was it, he peaked at 15 and never had an NHL career. I’m not saying that is the case with Wright but it does happen.
  17. Next year will have to be a year of vets. You will always have ebbs and flows with prospects coming into the AHL depending on who you drafted and where their status is with their teams. Belleville had a ton of talent last year but they all graduated up to Ottawa and they don’t have much now. And there seems to be a trend where college players want to stay in college and live the college life and develop rather then ride the buses in the AHL. The Swedish deal keeps players at home until 24 now.
  18. He hasn’t played since driving a forward into UPL and taking him out.
  19. We get so wrapped up in draft picks and then I go watch the Amerks and realize Jankowski was a 1st round pick and MacInnis was a 2nd round pick.😳 Great scouts are worth their weight in gold.
  20. They have fixed it up for the AHL. Real nice fan zone with a bar, couple higher end concession stands. Perfect size arena for the AHL.
  21. Was at the game tonight. Some thoughts: - I give credit to the d corps. They moved the puck well and took some big hits to make plays -Dell had some good saves but he got some breaks that he gets away with in the AHL but the NHL players would eat him up on. He totally lost his angle on the face off goal. -Belleville just didn’t have the high end skill to be difference makers. Especially up front where they just grind. -R2 was a difference maker. Krebs was great with the puck on his stick. JJ battles. I would like to see Quinn assert himself more. He wasn’t bad but he can do more. He almost finished it in OT. -Nice to see R2 and Murray hook up for the winner after R2 missed on the breakaway and Murray had a brutal turnover that Dell bailed him out on. -being there live and up close it is amazing how much quicker it is then when watching on tv. -Amerks blocked a ton of shots. -hopefully Muel can play next series. Fitzgerald makes a big difference, Muel would even more. -Good crowd. Nice arena to watch, love the Olympic ice. Belleville has always been a huge hockey town. Glad they got the Sens after losing the Bulls to Hamilton.

  23. The new NHL playoffs is no close checking, one team must score 5+
  24. I’m not a big Nazar guy but that is utterly ridiculous. At worst he should be right where Geekie is ranked. I can't stand that they always separate NA and Euro skater rankings. Like they don’t have the stones to do the work and make one list and combine the rankings.
