The Blue Jackets roster is lousy overall and they are over the cap and are going to have to trade another piece. their D corps beyond Werenski is brutal. Sillinger scores 30 points let’s not anoint him a superstar and Johnson could very easily struggle as a rookie. Their goaltending has been nothing to write home about the past couple years as well.

I agree. We are at the point of the offseason where the Sabres will be thrown into every UFA signing and trade because they are one of the few teams with cap space to make things happen.

This feels like coming out of the lockout with no one picking the Sabres and them coming out of nowhere. From the outside looking in Buffalo didn’t make a big splash. Their success is predicated on a backup goalie having a great season and a lot of younger player breaking through. That’s fine.

Until they trade for Bjork and sign Eakin they are not last year’s Sabres😀

Why would they move any of them? VO was a big part of the offence the parts of the season his wrist wasn’t hindering him. I see him hitting 30+ this season. I think many think this is Mitts “Tage” year where he hopefully stays healthy and breaks out. Krebs goes nowhere that is just silly.

Maybe the Sabres are sweeping in to say “We can give you $8 million but only for a 2 year term” I doubt it though. The Isles have done nothing. I see them as a landing spot. Maybe he has signed there and Lou is not going to announce it until Sept.😀

The other thing to remember is that the Amerks will have 2 teenagers in Rosen and Kisakov trying to break in to the AHL next season. They will have to be coddled especially early. Do they want a 3rd teenager? Three forwards that will have to handled especially cautiously as they break into the league. Something to think about. I do think that Kulich is more physically ready for Roch then Rosen is at this point.

Not great especially if you don’t count Knight as a prospect anymore. People are right. Florida are all in for the next couple years. The problem is this trade weakened them for those two years. Their depth up front is questionable and their D corps is suspect. They have cap problems and are running out of assets to bring in reinforcements. My only Panthers friend is not happy they gave up Huberdeau.
