That is part of it for sure. Adams made the decision to really focus on development and make Rochester a development hub. Replacing Taylor with Appert was controversial but it fit with his model and has worked out well. Credit too to Peca and Weber and the development and Skills guys like Mair and Kennedy and so on. The last Sabres team that was really competitive was the Roy, Vanek, Pommer, Max, Campbell, Miller crew that came up together thru Rochester. Some of that was circumstance because of the lockout but I think that is the model Adams wants to follow. Cycle groups of prospects together through Rochester and up to Buffalo. It depends when and where players are drafted from. Euro players can come over younger then junior players can join because of eligibility rules and players going to college will be out of the system longer. But I think Rosen’s treatment in Sweden was a catalyst to keep development in house as much as possible where they control on and off ice aspects of the players development.

No one compared him to Makar. I said he has some Makar like skating traits. His skating is elite. A lot of comparisons have been made to Barrie. At the under 18s Button compared him to Karlsson in play style. I’m not pounding the table for him I just think if they end up taking him I’d be happy with the pick but there are going to be about a half dozen guys at 13 I’d be happy with.

I’m just hoping Bedard is out west

Gallant is not a tactician or Xs and Os guy. That is one of his big criticisms.

Adams likes to lock his guys up long term. It does take two to tangle though. Power might want a bridge to see where the salary cap sits in a few years. If they can get Dahlin signed long term then they are in pretty good shape to go either way with Power. Obviously long term is best for the team and fans but the player might want bridge. Just don’t go Dubas and overpay on shorter deals to walk his key guys right into UFA😂

The Stanley Cup Playoffs 2023: Second Round GDT.

Ya no one was saying there was any excuse to threaten a ref. -
Some more reinforcements. I don’t know what the Östlund situation is but if they have a chance at some point to add Nadeau and Östlund to the lineup that would be big.

That is bad but there is WAY more to the story then just some crazy fans threatening a random ref. It goes all the way back to Keefe’s junior playing days and is really disturbing: https://holrmagazine.com/wes-mccauley-and-sheldon-keefe/ -

I’m sure they don’t give a frog’s Fat ass about them. They weren’t winning anything here when they were leaders. They were blown up and sent to different teams that already had real leadership in place and they just had to play a role. Management is probably more focused on adding a couple key pieces here and watching this team be successful for the next decade. -
Talent is talent. How do you know he is not going to play on the PP? Sabres could easily go to a two dmen PP setup. You can easily pair him with Dahlin or Power. Kid has some Makar like skating traits. I think they could find a place for him. Is it life or death that the Sabres draft him, no, but if he is available and they think he is BPA then I would be happy with the pick.
-
I’d be more than happy with Sandin Pellikka.
-
Tall, lanky right handed goal scorers from UConn is what he was probably going for
-
Get a dman another way. If you keep Rosén and he does break out next year then he is that much more valuable if you do have to move someone. sign a UFA dman. Or trade VO for a pick and then package a couple picks for a dman. Many different ways to fill a need.
-
I hope they don’t move Rosen this summer. He is starting to fill out and come on. He might be one who just explodes. Incredible wheels to go with a great shot. He was very good at the WJCs this year and has carried it on.

GDT—Amerks v Crunch Series Deciding Game Five
Flashsabre replied to Porous Five Hole's topic in The Aud Club
I see Metsa has made his way into the lineup. How has he looked? Coming back to beat Syracuse without Biro is an impressive feat. Nice to see the likes of Rousek, Kulich, Rosen, Kozak playing roles in a playoff series win. -

Rosen with a great feed on Kozak’s goal. Kulich with a nice goal. Bring on the Marlies I wonder if Östlund plays at all. -
https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/seven-potential-off-season-suitors-for-jets-connor-hellebuyck/ What would you be willing to give up for Hellebuyck and Demelo or Pionk? Hellebuyck has one more year at $6.2 and then is a UFA. Making a deal for him and one of the D would be 1 stop shopping. 13th OA, UPL, Joker would be a solid offer. The question is how long do you want Hellebuyck. You would have to sign him to an extension to keep him long term. Or is he just a one year rental while Levi takes over. That is a lot to give up for 1 year of Hellebuyck but it would easily put you in the playoffs.

I had seen other places with different teams talking about their team’s Core 4. Because of the salary cap era the idea was who are the 4 guys you sign big contracts with to build around. I decided to add another to make it Core 5 for this discussion. Wanted to see if everyone was basically on the same page and everyone seems to be. Dahlin, Tage, Power, Cozens, Tuch seems to be it with Muel, Quinn, Levi as guys that could break in there. In reality the Core can be as many guys as you can lock into long term deals. Dahlin, Tage, Cozens, Power, Tuch, Muel, Quinn, Levi is likely the real long term Core at the moment.

All I remember is tons of online fans declaring that they were done with the Bills forever if they took Josh Allen over Josh Rosen.😂

He said it is the chance to play with his brother as they have never played together before. -

His younger brother and future Sabre Luke Tuch😀 -
The only way P Kane is on this team next season is if Pegula demands it. Do I think it is a good idea or the right idea-no Am I going to throw a man baby temper tantrum if it happens- no

Smith moving up to 3rd is a big development. Perrault moving up 23 spots to 9th is a giant development. Scouts will go back and forth on Perrault because he is 5’10 without electric wheels, and put up insane numbers this year with Smith and Leonard but hasn’t put up similar numbers in previous years. Will be some good talent at 13 for sure.
-
He is one of a handful of forwards that the Sabres can choose from. I have to believe Oliver Moore is right in Adams wheelhouse. Moore, Wood, Yager, Perrault and others will probably be there at 13. Bob’s top 12 drops tomorrow so it will be interesting to see how he has the top of the draft ranked.
