  1. Eleven: sweet sniper shot through traffic from the top of the left circle, hit the top right corner over the tender's glove. Not sure who it was as I have no idea who these chicks are. edit: from box score: CAN 0 - 2 USA CARPENTER Alex (USA) scores during a 1-player power play; assisted by KNIGHT Hilary (USA) and by STACK Kelli (USA)

  3. One thing that has always bugged me about this show, and which happened about 2 to 3 times last night...how can someone be quietly standing still in the woods and NOT hear a moaning/hissing/growling zombie shuffle up behind them before it reaches out and grabs them? I know it's a minor point, and I know it's done to shock the audience, but it just drives me nuts. It's SO dumb, and it happens constantly. /vent
  4. That makes perfect sense. Russia pulling away now. Can't wait until Saturday!
  5. Shouldn't have even counted...it was very clearly offsides on the play. Should be 7-0 now. So with such an ass-whooping in the first game, is Bylsma gonna just stick with Quick vs Russia? Not that Quick has had to do much today, but I would say Quick has looked quite good in limited action.
  6. So glad I don't have classes on Thursdays...got the alarm set already and I definitely hope we have a live GDT here. In fact, we should all make a point to keep ANY game-related posts in that thread exclusively for those on delay - the rest of the board should ideally be a spoiler-free zone, IMO.
  7. Nowhere did I call it ridiculous, not sure where you got that from. I did call it inherently contradictory and therefore nonsensical, and I think I explained adequately my thoughts as to why with the square circle analogy. I'm not sure how better to explain my reasons, so I guess I'll just leave it at that. Absolutely. This book is excellent, Sagan was one of the greatest minds of our century.
  8. Indeed you attempted to, and I was/am genuinely interested...but I guess I just don't buy it, and I was simply throwing my thoughts into the mix.
  9. a very poorly named square, but a square nonetheless. :P
  10. All due respect D4rk, but the very term "Religious Science" is inherently contradictory and nonsensical, and therefore utterly useless and without meaning, IMHO. It's like trying to draw a "square circle", no? There is no such thing, nor could there possibly be.
  11. Speaking of which, I have to admit part of me kinda misses Crosschecking and his antics around here...
  12. For fellow nerds, I can think of very few things more awesome than this: Materials From Carl Sagan's College Courses Now Available Online http://www.popsci.com/article/science/materials-carl-sagans-college-courses-now-available-online?src=SOC&dom=fb
  13. ah yes, I remember that... good times    http://deadspin.com/5959249/ur-probably-rob-ray-jeremy-roenicks-spirited-banter-with-the-twitter-troll-he-wants-to-fight
  14. I can't wait until I can actually root for them to win again. This season sucks. :(
  15. This is a fun read: http://grantland.com/the-triangle/nhlpa-93-vs-nhl-94-the-ultimate-showdown/ I say '94 all the way.
  16. Seems about right I guess. At least he didn't throw down with a fan like our old friend Harry Neale did when he was the 'Nucks coach: http://vansunsportsb...ng-a-fan-video/
  17. I'm torn. Growing up, the Seahawks were my second favorite team by far...I rooted for them almost as hard as I did the Bills. Steve Largent, Jim Zorn...absolutely loved them. Continued loving them into the Dave Krieg years in the 80s. Loved the AFC West division and the great rivalries with the Broncos, Raiders, Chiefs, and Chargers. Then when they left the AFC I quickly lost interest in them for some reason. But their fan base is rabid and have never won a SB, so my inclination is to root for them for that reason and also my childhood love of the team. OTOH, the thought of Marshawn Lynch winning a Superbowl and maybe being MVP makes me  , so like I said, I'm torn.
  18. Wish I had the money/time/grapes to try this: http://www.youtube.com/embed/fOaBBt6sQns What a feeling that must be.
