The turning point was in the third with a horrific non-call on an obvious (and very filthy) board that caused the Devils to completely lose their cool and composure.

Good thing Kevyn didn't do something mind bogglingly stupid like trade a top 6 center we spent years developing for a redundant defenseman who adds nothing to the roster leaving us with a #2 center who couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat. That would be really bad.

The Devils eased off because they weren't the ones chasing an 0-3 hole. From that point on all they wanted to do is kill off the game (which they did quite easily).

The complete lack of professional pride was by far the most upsetting thing. That first period was inexcusable, just a heartless and gutless display where they didn't even show up.

Oddly enough Botts actually ended up benefiting by failing under Pegula because lots of sentiment around the league was that it was Pegula's fault and not Botts.

Why do you think the Sabres are constantly hiring guys who are either entry level or have no other options (Lindy is the glaring exception who was willing to come here because he's a team legend)? We are as low as it gets in the NHL and it's entirely the fault of one man.

Also the former Sabre (a name guy) who outright told a friend of mine he would never want to play for this organization ever again.
