Welcome back! Welcome back!

Moreover, I have read fans on other boards say the same things about Zadorov that we said about Ristolainen, only less intensely.

This team is clearly behind the elite. Improved goaltending should get them to the level of this season's Islanders, Blue Jackets, Canucks, and Jets. I personally would prefer Bryson, Fitzgerald, and Pysyk in the 7/8 roles next season. One thing that must improve is forward depth. We must improve on Eakin, Bjork, etc.

Seconded on @Doohickie. Enormous. Over the past few years, going back to even DDB, I saw things in the interviews that I really did not like. Last season's interviews were the perfect horrible culmination of a disastrous season.

This is going to get interesting. We might need to lose a couple of guys we like to really improve the team over the next couple of years.

My wife is awesome. I am very lucky. That's why I tell her to go out with her friends and not to worry about me.

Goaltending. Solidifying the defence. Forward depth. He has to spend wisely. Power and Dahlin are due in 2 years. Samuelsson and Thompson are up next year. And those are just the enormous pay raises in the offing.

Question: the refs blew the whistle on an apparent Buffalo goal. Does anyone know why?
-
Gotta be. Guys seemed to randomly turn funny or slip on the ice.

The Sabres had a lot of trouble giving and receiving passes today. At times, it looked like they were trying too hard and overplayed things. Passes were too hard or the players were gripping their sticks so hard that the puck would bounce off the blade. I've been pretty wistful since my wife got me my ticket. (She had to work.) Paraphrasing Greg Klyma's song, whose melancholic atmosphere aptly reflects my current mood: now that Rick's retired, Buffalo won't be the same 'cause we loved to hear Rick Jeanneret call the game.

So I guess the LVGK press people momentarily forgot about Lehner.

My wife got one for me this morning.

Lorentz on the genius of Rick: Jim comes close to nailing it
Marvin replied to PASabreFan's topic in The Aud Club
Quoting Hockey Stars again: Rick could "...make a boring game sound exciting and an exciting game sound like a life-or-death struggle." As @PASabreFan said in another thread and as @Weave says here, it was like he announced the game and what he saw was converted by the circuitry, transmitted by the radio waves, reassembled by my radio, emitted through the air into my ear and became this crystal clear picture in my head. No one else has his gift. I am honored and humbled to have partaken in it. -
I think he will come back to say "hi" here or there, but not more unless the Sabres have 3 wins in a Stanley Cup Final. Then he won't be able to resist being there.
-
I want to cry. I hope there are tickets remaining when my paycheck comes in.
-
Bump. I think every Sabres fan should read what the Hockey Stars writers thought of RJ -- they were NOT Sabres fans. RJ is, was, and will always be the PBP GOAT because "...he's so far ahead of the rest that there's no second best."

A far better source.

I think that any evaluation by us (and Jack Eichel himself, for that matter) has to look at the leadership in Buffalo when he came here. All of the mistakes made by the Coaches, the GMs, and the Ownership have been enumerated ad nauseum here. How much better would he and the team have been if there had been competent management, coaching, mentorship, and/or more balanced and effective rosters?

LVGK going down after their front office and cap shenanigans has united arch rival fanbases like few things can.
