  1. They're either shaving costs or profits..
  2. Election night in America So the polls open in a few hours and I still don't know who to vote for. I'm strongly leaning toward "other". Neither Obama nor Romney told/showed me enough to have earned my vote. I think I'm profoundly disappointed in Obama. I cast the most certain vote of my voting life four years ago when I crossed the aisle and voted for Obama. Then I sat back and watched.. My exectations were sky high; never higher. For me, this election was never about Romney, and only about whether Obama deserves four more years. After paying close attention for months now, I can't identify any compelling reason to vote for him again. Romney is too much of a wild card for me to vote for. I'm stuck with a candidate who ran on change and now runs simply on "not him" and a candidate who will say/do anything to get elected. I'm probably going to do a coin flip because that's the choice these two men gave us. ******************************** First results are in from Dixville Notch, NH... Obama 5, Romney 5 First tie ever in Dixville Notch... *********************************** From Hart's Location: Obama 23, Romney 9 ************************************
  3. Poll has been updated. New choice is Unable to Vote (not a US Citizen). If you voted for "not voting" because you legally can't, please delete your vote and resubmit.
  4. Yeah it's a flaw. I think I put can't vote in the thread request and then forgot that option in the message I sent to Chz to create it.
  5. We do have a fair amount north of the border here..
  6. Mine says mobile, but there is no toggle to desktop or full or something different when you click it.
  7. Thank you. Be interesting to see if we mirror the national results..
  8. Chz, I can't figure out how to add a poll... I only have two choices under moderation, Lock or Delete. Can you please add the following poll? Please make it anonymous. President: Barack Obama (D) Mitt Romney ® Other Voted: Early Voted Absentee Ballot On Election Day Not Voting Unable to Vote
  9. This is ALWAYS a problem. It's just so close this year that it matters.
  10. Hell no.... Not at any cost...
  11. Liked the show last night. Nitpicks. Emergency room doors don't let you sneak in, they blow wide open as you approach them. For good reason. How does a teenager get to the ICU, past admissions and security without knowing the name of the person they are there to see? The whole standdown of the Marine in Estes office was a bit unbelievable. The silent superior sitting there for effect was a bit much too.. No way they bring in a potted plant and he doesn't address his troops. The following of the terrorist takes you from high tech CIA to keystone cops too quickly.. I expect better... Definitely like the show...
  12. Love the Brits.. "Mr Obama's first term has been patchy".. At least they avoided my favorite British word, dodgy... The more I read that article, the more it strikes you that Obama really never connected with the Brits like previous adminstrations. That was as reluctant an endorsement as it comes.. They say things like: "Compared with, say, George Bush senior, who handled the end of the cold war, this aloof, disengaged man is no master diplomat;" "No administration in many decades has had such a poor appreciation of commerce" " After a shaky start with China, American diplomacy has made a necessary “pivot” towards Asia. By contrast, with both the Israeli-Palestinian dispute and his “reset” with Russia, he overreached and underdelivered. Iran has continued its worrying crawl towards nuclear weapons." "The other qualified achievement is health reform. Even to a newspaper with no love for big government, the fact that over 40m people had no health coverage in a country as rich as America was a scandal. “Obamacare” will correct that, but Mr Obama did very little to deal with the system’s other flaw—its huge and unaffordable costs." They did not spare Romney either.. " But Mr Romney seems too ready to bomb Iran, too uncritically supportive of Israel and cruelly wrong in his belief in “the Palestinians not wanting to see peace”. The bellicosity could start on the first day of his presidency, when he has vowed to list China as a currency manipulator—a pointless provocation to its new leadership that could easily degenerate into a trade war." "Mr Romney is still in the cloud-cuckoo-land of thinking you can do it entirely through spending cuts:" And then this: "We very much hope that whichever of these men wins office will prove our pessimism wrong. Once in the White House, maybe the Romney of the mind will become reality, cracking bipartisan deals to reshape American government, with his vice-president keeping the headbangers in the Republican Party in line. A re-elected President Obama might learn from his mistakes, clean up the White House, listen to the odd businessman and secure a legacy happier than the one he would leave after a single term. Both men have it in them to be their better selves; but the sad fact is that neither candidate has campaigned as if that is his plan."
  13. Question for IPAD users. I don't get any of the normal toolbar features like emoticons, embed links, bolding, etc on my IPAD. Is there a setting I'm missing? Love reading on the IPAD, but need the full features I get from my desktop.
  14. NY Daily News flips and endorses Romney. The Daily News is a bit of a stunner... Papers that have switched from O to R: The New York Daily News Long Island Newsday Houston Chronicle Fort Worth Star-Telegram Orlando Sentinel Ft. Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel Nashville Tennessean Des Moines Register Illinois Daily Herald Los Angeles Daily News Los Angeles Press-Telegram

  19. I wore a Livestrong yellow bracelet for years and years. Took it off and threw it away. I'm profoundly disappointed.
  20. Crime is down for the 3rd straight day in NYC... Nor'easter getting stronger... Per NWS, "THE GUIDANCE HAVE STRONGLY CONVERGED ON A RATHER ROBUST CYCLONE HEADED UP THE EAST COAST MID-LATE WEEK" "ESPECIALLY IN LIGHT OF THE PAST WEEK... MAY BE AMPLIFIED. AT THE LEAST THERE IS A VERY REAL POSSIBILITY OF HEAVY RAIN AND STRONG WINDS ALONG THE COAST FROM VIRGINIA TO MAINE AS THE SYSTEM DEEPENS INTO THE 980S MB OFF THE COAST OF NEW JERSEY. ENOUGH COLD AIR SHOULD BE IN PLACE OR DRAWN IN TO SUPPORT SNOW THROUGH THE INTERIOR OF THE NORTHEAST THOUGH SOME ENSEMBLE MEMBERS DO BRING SOME SNOW ALL THE WAY TO THE COAST AS FAR SOUTH AS VIRGINIA. THESE DETAILS WILL BE FURTHER REFINED IN THE SHORTER TERM FORECAST."
  21. So how many rushing yards will Foster get today, 100, 150, 200, 250, or 300?
  22. Biden in CO talking DST "It’s Mitt Romney’s favorite time of the year -- because he gets to turn the clock back!" Pretty good line..
  23. Won't he term out soon? He should just go quietly into the Staten Island night..
  24. But they're really clean now. That was pretty sad.
  25. I know. Obama extracted out of it just what he needed to get re-elected. Six hours of dirty work and one week of speeches reminding us of those six hours.
