Agree, I was commenting on the average age and EJ is driving it up. If EJ, Z an KO all leave, and Adams replaces them with his own prospects then our team average age won't change to much, and still be among the lowest in he league. Not that I advocate for that, I don't.

That is probably because EJ plays defense, has a Cup, and has a great reputation around the league. Between KO and Z, I think Z is better at his role than Kyle right now. He makes a bit less and has more tread on the tires too. All 3 of these guys have contracts that may require the Sabres retaining $$.

Girgs is on a 1 year deal. He can be traded to a playoff team, fulfill that dream, and then sign with who ever he wants (including Buffalo). His only problem is that he makes $2.5M per year and playoffs teams that want him may not be able to fit him in. In that case the Sabres could retain some of his salary and ask for more in return. This kind of trade happens multiples times every season at the trade deadline.

All the really huge problems on this team: Terrible Ownership, experimental GMs, really bad coaches, players not wanting to be here, players complaining about the fans, no ownership for the drought, bad leadership in the locker room, Skinners contract, Powers Contract, Cozens Contract, will Mitts get a contract, the dark and dank Arena, terrible concessions, expensive beer, Matty Ellis, Dan Dunleavy, etc. And you are obsessing about Anders Bjork?

Follow up BB with Muddy This goes out to the Sabres, Mannish Boy by Muddy Waters.

It could happen, or close to the same ave age. Get rid of EJ, Z, KO and it all depends on who replaces them.

I don't mind Zemgus being moved for the right return but he should eventually be replaced by a player that will do the heavy lifting typically asked of a player in a 4th line role. I don't want to see Rosen, or some other fancy prospect, thrust into a 4th line role just to give Adams prospects a tryout. It is time to start winning hockey games. They did this with Krebs. Put him in a 4th line role and now they are looking at him at 3C, which actually makes some sense. Krebs at least tried very hard in that role, even dropped the gloves a few times (which was silly), but how many games did we blow by not having a inexpensive but solid 4th line center that can shut down an opponent, win draws, and kill penalties?

Sabres Bad @ Home For 4 Straight Years - Make Changes
Pimlach replied to Night Train's topic in The Aud Club
I used to think it was a coincidence and probably the bi-product of a young team playing for a rebuilding organization that has had no success in over a decade. Last year I went along with the coaches explanation "young and nervous, want to do good for the fans, playing tight" which were all just excuses. This year the expectations were to win more and while the pressure is the same - they probably feel it even more. I don't buy into the "feel the hate" and "toxic environment" social media messaging. Those are todays fancy words, pushed by irresponsible media. I can sense when I am there that the fans have a feeling of impending doom, such as "what will go wrong tonight?". It used to be goaltending, but now the slow and lazy starts are the problem. Just look at the first, second and third period scoring stats. They wake up in the 3rd and its usually too little too late. Now because of this booing situation you have to throw in another factor, the players are not feeling good at home and pressing even more. There is a massive lack of the right leadership behind the reasons that the team feels hurt. We just saw evidence of it with the latest story - a secret senior player talking to the media about hurt feelings. The young players should be told to just forget it, shake it off, it happens everywhere, and their focus should be on fixing their game. That is it, over. Everyone can roll their eyes, shake their heads, call me a boomer or whatever but the ONLY ones that can fix it are the Sabres themselves. Better preparation and focus. Better leadership to hold everyone accountable. More hard work and less "woe is me". Maybe someone on the staff should actually look at each players routines on the road and at home and try to find something that might help them? Instead Donnie give us his psychology 101 lessons. One more thing, they should be fining any player Sabre that purposely throws or break their stick, or shows any other such display of Bantam level hockey while in public. They can give that money to charity. This happens more with this team than I have seen in a lifetime. -
Agree 100% The announcer last night says the Sabres are being heavily scouted and Girgensons is a guy that is likely to be targeted by a playoff team looking for depth. So Z will likely be gone soon, and next year replaced by Rousek/Rosen/Savoie or some other smurf, as Adams was quoted last night as saying he is going to be bringing up his young players next year. To which the 2nd announcer emphatically replied (twice) - "but you have to have a mix with some veterans".

Did Z score an AHL Level goal last night?

Did you see them show Adams at the game? He is open for any discussions regarding players. Also the announcers claim that he said they are going with their young guys next year.
