The longer you wait the more the price goes up - see Scandella affect. He has enough 2nd round picks and B level prospects to make a move to add veteran defensive help without hurting the long term plan - he needs to show the players and the fans that he is "all in" on this playoff push. Next year anything can happen. They are knocking on the door right now.

I never understood the need to apologize or put an asterisk on that playoff team - re: the Dalton play to win the game for Cinci and put us in. Every team played their schedule, the fact that the Bengals game ended after the Bills game was immaterial. We did not sneak in. We got in in accordance with the league rules.
