  1. Can he be Devon Eli? I always think of Eli, not Levi.
  2. Flashback to 2008 - This is what my son said to me when I told him he earned the privilege of driving my pickup truck to school and to hockey practice afterwards.
  3. But they must play hard to the end of the season, try to win every game and get every point to the end. The drafting slot is not important at this point, there will be a good players to choose from.
  4. IF its the team's Masterton then perseverance and dedication are the keys - Tuch, Dahlin, Kyle, Tage, Andy. Boosh maybe, he played hurt a lot.
  5. Fix thread title unless you went to tomorrows practice. LOL Love your updates @Brawndo
  6. They don't have to copy any one team exactly, every situation is different. We happen to have few vets, and even less with playoff/Cup experience. Girgensons and Skinner are anomalies that happen to be on the same team. It seems only logical that a few key vets would help, but finding the right ones, at the right price is the key. Certainly Adams missed on the Stahl and Hall pick ups, but they played with the Jack/Sam core - the current Sabres Team is much different right now.
  7. It’s looking good! Something for your refrigerator…
  8. @PASabreFan gets his first shift in "pick up league" play.
  9. It isn't for Boston, Tampa, and clubs like that.
  10. Good news if true. If there are players that can be acquired now that won't cost a lot or block a prospect then he should upgrade the defense, the bottom 6, and the goaltending. I was not in on Horvat, or Meir/Chyckrun either - just improve on the bottom 3 or 4 players and help the young core.
  11. Thank you. Adding a few veteran pieces also helps the current core who are young and carrying a big load. I feel bad seeing their struggles intermixed with the good play and knowing there are a few moves that could help. I feel even worse hearing boos in the KBC. The players have a problem when playing at home and do not have much of an intimate relationship with the crowd - even though they want to - they cant seem to be consistent enough at home to get there.
  12. They polished off very old bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon and Adams poured second glass a bit heavy.
  13. Cozens is 21, there is time for Selke talk once he improves his game a bit further. Cozen has made great strides, especially with him carrying two rookies and playing on both PP and PK this season.
  14. Good to hear all the positives. I saw the last half of the game and he looked like a hard worker.
  15. I concur that if only one goes you keep Mitts another year and trade VO, who should get more on the market. Scorers are always in need.
  16. He went with Olofsson, Peterka, Tuch, Quinn, Mitts, and Cozens. I would love to hear why, but our press doesn’t ask questions this deep. If you’re going “gut” Dahlin was a beast on the last PK. Give him the first slot vacated by no Thompson.
  17. Sorry to hear that. Very common that plumbing takes a few trips to the store. Plastic breaks and rubber gets old and leaks.
  18. Tenor Joe Byron rarely ever missed a game. (Note: the Canadian Anthem words have been updated since this recording)
  19. Yes, after 329 career goals and his emergence as a pretty solid player all around - I think he can handle taking a penalty shot since he has not had one since 2018. He could not be worse than the 5 attempts that were easily handled by Allen. Skinner has had just 1 shootout attempt as a Sabre and 29 with Carolina. He is 6 for 30, only slightly worse than Mitts and Olofsson, and both were called on last night. I think Skinner would come through in the clutch, but perhaps not, perhaps he really sucks at it in practice and the coaches all joke about it - which seems quite unusual for a guy who has a very accurate shot and could score 400+ goals in a career. BTW - Cozens and JJP have yet to make a shoot out goal and they got a chance.
