Eakin over Larsson: a big blunder by Kevyn Adams
Cascade Youth replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
Yeah exactly. How is this even a debate? The fourth line center is not his biggest blunder, at all. The goalie situation was a two-ton semi speeding straight at them in the offseason and KA literally did NOTHING about it. -
And if they measured "sober viewership," the drop would be even steeper.

https://theathletic.com/2612324/2021/05/25/the-moment-don-granato-knew-auston-matthews-was-different-plus-his-thoughts-on-the-sabres-and-jack-eichel/?source=user_shared_article This answer is one of the most interesting, relatable and insightful things I think I’ve ever heard any coach or athlete in any sport ever say: On hockey’s conflation of happiness and contentedness: “You can be happy in our business. It’s hard to show it, because people will misinterpret it. But you can never be content. A lot of people act miserable, so they don’t give off the perception that they’re actually happy, because people will say ‘If you’re happy, you’re content.’ Well, no. They’re two totally different things. I’m completely not content, but I’m also comfortable enough to tell you ‘I’m happy about life and other things and about the opportunity. But no, I’m not content. Do you want me to just act mad?'” “In any competitive business, that can be misinterpreted. The player’s in a tough spot there. The player has to show that he’s grumpy so people realize he’s not content. And then you do that over and over, and year-in and year-out, and interview-in and interview-out. And sometimes you lose yourself. And you lose the feel and the perspective on things. And it’ll bleed into your game.” Amazing.

You may as well eat wires. -
Watching Taylor Hall score goals like that is further proof that the Sabres exist simply to punish their own fans.

What if it’s just space tourism and we’re another stop on the intergalactic zoo tram?

Thanks for not including Red Vines. In Cali they don’t have Twizzlers, they only have Red Vines. They taste like plastic. A complete abomination. -
At some point he has to make a successful move of some kind, right? What are the metrics he’s being evaluated by other than loyalty to his bosses? The most you’re saying is that not everything was his fault - maybe not, but doesn’t he have to show success at SOMETHING? He literally has failed in every single metric and transaction and again, it’s not like he has some previous track record of success to fall back on. He’s a joke.

Maybe he should explain what qualifies him to keep his job. Consider his moves and non-moves: 1) Traded for Staahl: FAIL 2) Signed Hall: FAIL 3) Traded Hall for peanuts: FAIL 4) Did absolutely nothing to address the biggest issue on the roster heading into the season, goaltending: FAIL 5) Stuck with RK for weeks after it was clear he had no answers: FAIL 6) Managed to alienate the best young player the Sabres have had in fifty years: FAIL 7) Oversaw the worst record in the NHL in his first season as GM: FAIL Since we like to talk about qualifications around here, Kevyn Adams lacks them. He has no prior track record of success to point to, and his brief Sabres track record is an unmitigated disaster. I cannot believe he still has a job.

1) I can’t believe there are still folks on this board who continue to pay for the product. I get that there are traditions, you like seeing your friends and reliving old times, etc., but come on - go to a bar. Coming here to complain and then digging in about “never canceling my seasons” is idiocy at its highest. Vote with your pocket book or honestly, shut up. 2) I’d like to formally apologize to PA and change my vote in the “is Kim Pegula qualified?” thread 3) Remeber: one thing, and only one thing, motivates the Pegulas to act: getting embarrassed. Expect action. 4) All of that said, Jack Eichel is, and always has been, a little bitch.
