  1. But in another thread you said that since the 10 game streak that our D and goaltending has colapsed. So, you want to upgrade a totally different position and make the D worse which will likely make the tending worse so you can fix that. We have the resources to fix the 2C without making everything else worse.
  2. AAAAHHHHHH yes.....Pilut and Risto on a 3rd pair, sounds about right on a successful team like Tampa.
  3. Create one problem and solve another, that works pretty well. You can't even name a third Dman and yet you want to get rid of Risto. In that post I never commented about you feeling better so what's with the Snark???
  4. I understand your thinking and agree to a point. But if you could bring in a player just like Kane (or even Kane) wouldn't you do it if not losing anyone? Can't argue that he wouldn't be an upgrade from many players we have on the roster. Isn't he the type of player that many are clamoring for....scorer, forechecker, speed, tough to play against? As far as Risto....slotting seems to be the issue with most. So why not get someone on the roster to be able to slot him properly. If Tampa can play the style of game that PH wants to play "with" Risto, then why can't we if he's slotted right? That's more my point. Nobody feels that Risto is a top D. But I'd rather have him in the line-up than someone like Hunwick/Scandy. I think our D will get better and good enough to support a Risto type player to be slotted correctly. If you can replace him with someone better at some point (like Borgen/ Samuelsson/etc) then all the better.
  5. But the talent isn't different if he is developed properly. So the question might be .....what does Tampa do that we don't? If Risto is one of your top 3 then who replaces him that can slot properly and make you better?
  6. If you can't slot players on your team properly then you will always be trading players away and never be any good. Absolutely....and it garnished the exact response that I expected.
  7. or their heart. just for the record....in another post I said that the Z hit didn't deserve an "old-time" response. I feel that if Jack had laid that hit on Z the people on here would be applauding Jack and not expecting an answer back from the Avs.
  8. Bolded.....the evidence provided is concerning enough as to why another team would want to take him off our hands. If Risto "should be" traded off this team, why would a successful team want him? Under-lined....does this make you feel better?
  9. I suspect no lower than 5th pick unless we win(?) a lottery pick.
  10. This whole season is questioning their manhood....not just one incident.
  11. I noticed that you don't have Larry on the roster....are you putting any money on Asplund? He's coming along nice lately after some what of a slow start.
  12. Sooooooo.....Jack is out, that's different.
  13. I saw one once sticking out of a Pot o' Gold at the end of a rainbow. I went to grab it for proof that it existed but, a voice came from under a bridge and told me "run, the Ogre is coming.
  14. Having the guy/guys that are capable of responding is a deterent from "having to respond" nearly as often. Also, if that response were to happen there would be no need to react on a continuous basis throughout the rest of the game (or the next time the teams meet). That said....I don't think that Z hit qualified for the true "old time" response.
  15. I thought we just got done watching the women play hockey...lol
  16. But wait.....I thought the millenials didn't want "physical" hockey?
  17. Gallant was named coach of Vegas in April '17 ...Botterill named GM in May '17.....Housley named coach in June '17 Gallant was not available when Phil was named coach nor was he available when Botts was hire as GM.
  18. Pretty sure I saw one of them scoring at a bar in State College PA.
  19. And without Skinner just how good would the top line be? Of course, everything is subjective to the "what if".
  20. Its all hindsight because you and everyone else could've "felt" what ever way you wanted but still knew nothing. That includes whether or not ROR actually wanted to be here or not. You can say it was a bad deal but that's like a Judge making a ruling and sentencing before the jury comes out with their verdict or even before either side has presented all the facts. If Berg/ Sobotka/ TT the 1st rd pick which hasn't even been used yet and the 2nd rd pick which is yet to come, had all over-achieved and made Botts look like a genius I would expect to hear the same BS from 1000 other people. Or better yet....what if ROR had a bad season or got injured and missed most of the year. While all you people who "think" they know everything after the fact (which all the facts really won't be out for years), I'll sit here still on the fence leaning to one side until the verdict is in. We may never know all the facts in this trade and even if we do how do you evaluate things like Bergy walking away, whether ROR wanted to be here or not, where the $12M saved actually gets spent if it does, etc. There are plenty on this team that you could say aren't earning their money. Bergland is one that you'll never know if he would've earned it or not because he wasn't here long enough. But most believe he was a cap dump (along with Sabotka) and those type players are not really expected to produce up to par, that's why the "dump". If they trade Risto and the D flourishes then what? We hear from the guys that wanted the trade that it wasn't hindsight. We agree on something at least...we like Phil and his system.
  21. 1.The bolded is absolutely false....Sheary and Skinner and the players that would still need to be added to fill at least 2 out of 3 spots vacated by Berg/ Sobotka/ TT could never happen under the cap. 2.under-lined....nothing is more misleading than people saying that they knew at the time of the trade that it was a bad deal, Bergy had issues, and Botts should have known all these players would under-perform or walk away. 3.Salary cap of ROR verses salary cap of the return is also utmost misleading. ROR had 5yrs left for a total $37.5M. The total to be paid out over the term of the contracts for players in return was about $25M. 4, production is the only part of you argument that makes sense, however.....If those players came here and over-performed would we be having this conversation or would you be saying"I knew it was a great deal when I heard it" and "ROR wanted out of here anyway". LOL
  22. So am I looking at right now and you could never prove that we would be in the playoffs if ROR trade never happened.
  23. And just how many good players could we sign if we kept ROR? Enough to take us from last to 1st?
