Soooo....you're already firing the experienced ex-head coach in 1-2yrs so you can promote Taylor? You must be with the side that thinks coaching isn't the problem and never has been and won't chamge things around here. Do you live in North Tonawanda next to the carousel Museum?
-
People here are requesting an experienced head coach....not that the Pegs are listening to the fans though.
-
Calder? Maybe that's what we need to do.....drop this team down to and AHL level and start over with an expansion draft.
-
I'd be happy with that (not satisfied but...) and I'd still be happy that ROR is a good player too. God I hope he gets traded to Tampa.
-
I think the problem is that everyone takes the "hockey Heaven" too literal. Don't you have to be dead to this world before you see Heaven? Maybe there should be a change in this slogan.
-
You're absolutely right!!!! In 3yrs we'll have a cup and ROR will still be a good player.?
-
And yet we have more points in the standings without BOTH of them.
-
I would never argue about ROR's abilities and is a very consistant player. He's had a slight up-tick in pts this year on a much better team. It's not like he had a breakout year going from 45pts-75pts. Look at his career numbers and see how consistant they are. he had 24g/61pts with our crappy team last year and now has 27g/71pts on a playoff team. Do you really think that little difference is the reason the Blues are in the playoffs? Can you confirm he's a leader on a playoff team? I can just as easily say the opposite. Where were the Blues up until Bennington came along? About where we are now. Look at Benningtons numbers during the "streak" they had. They sucked with O'Reilly until Bennington got hot. And if you remember our "streak"(I ask that becausepeople have tried to remove all recognition of it happening) it was said that we rode the hot goalies at the time. Same with the Blues. You also said that WE would be a better team with O'Reilly rather than the trash we got back in the trade. Then you wouldn't argue that the Blues are better with ROR than they would be if they had the dead weight they sent us, right? They are only better by a few points, do you think a few points would make that much difference to us? If ROR is so good and he's having a great year no doubt.....why is it that most players on their team are having a worse year than last year? Is it his leadership?
-
Hahaha.....got me. For some reason I thought you were talking about you know who, my bad and continue on.
-
Next thing you'll be trying to convince us is that he's the reason that the Blues are good.....NOT!!!

This is for this entire page of the biggest BS ....

Just want to run a few things by you and I"m just asking for your opinion. We are becoming the Edmonton of the east, changing GM's, Coaches, the tanks, rosters, systems, trying everything possible to also change the final outcome. Neither seemingly successful and almost mirroring each other. They changed GM's and we've done the same.....I know, Chiarelli. They changed coaches and we did too....difference being that they hire very experienced coaches and even tried the "middle of season" change which some people here are willing to do next year if we get off to a bad start Both teams have tried different types of coaches with different styles and different levels of experience. The "mirroring" is the rosters.....McDavid/ Draisaitl/ RNH.....Eichel/ Skinner/ Reinhart, they seem to have the upper hand as far as the top two having almost 70pts more than ours. From there....Nurse/Dahlin....Chaisson/ Risto....beyond this point it looks in our favor a little more. With all these similarities along with the standings between the two at a minimal amount, the biggest difference seems like the coaching. They have very experienced coaches that have been proven successful......which brings me to a couple questions. Do you also blame Edmonton's issues on the coaching? GM? Ownership? or the players? If you blame the coaching does this not become the "case" to just keep Housley because changing coaches (even in the middle of the season) didn't prove to help Edmonton so why should we believe it would help us either? Or are we hoping that we somehow get lucky sometime before 2030 by constantly changing the coach and catching up with the odds that we finally find the "right" one. I would rather fire PH now or give him another full season no matter what. The difference would ultimately be only a 1/2 season (based on his being fired 1/2 way thru next season). This reasoning brings on some other questions.... What to do.....and options. Do you fire Phil at seasons end? If you do, the question becomes what style of play does JBotts want to run and that will tell us whether or not Phil's system was what Jason wanted to do when he hire PH or if he let Phil make that decision and agreed to build the team to fit Housley. If you bring Housley back for next year, then Botts needs to continue building the team to fit Phil's system. If he does this, I think it severely limits your ability to fire him mid-season based on available coaches capable of running the system or being able to change the roster to fit the new coach mid-way in the season. And will that firing be of any use....it didn't work in Edmonton with experienced and successful coaches (McLellan/ Hitchcock). McLellan had good success with power plays previously but in Edmonton I think they were bad one year then great in the playoff year , and then not so good again.....sound familiar? If you blame the roster or players then why would it be different here. Why would it be on Phil? Hitchcock is a quick turnaround short term type coach that has shown success with seemingly every team BUT Edmonton, at least so far. Why would anyone think a coach similarly would make a difference here in "Hockey Heaven"? Does JBotts fire Phil at season end and change his thinking about systems and coaches so he can adjust what he looks for in the draft, trades, or FA? I think IF he'even thinks he might have to fire Phil at some point (either now,or during next season)he would need to consider these things and is best off doing it now, make the adjustments, and get off to a fresh start next season, or play the next season out as it is now and take the risk. These are the questions that I pose to you (and everyone else). They are just my thoughts and opinions and I welcome yours. Please don't take any offense to any of this( if I referred to some things that suggest they were directed at you specifically it is just generalization and not meant to be a "you said this" sort of thing). If we can answer these questions, then maybe we can find a solution.....or maybe we just come to the conclusion that we are destined to suck.

Maybe all the fans should stay home on fan appreciation night and let them play in an empty building.

Forwards Next Year - Fixing the Middle Six
MakeSabresGrr8Again replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
I think that 3rd line would be all right because Olofsson is older and more mature with the SHL experience. -
Hahahahaha ....there goes our chances of winning.
-
You can cry BS all you want but I've personally dealt with fans from other cities that have won and experienced the complaining along with the boasting. And until we win you won't experience it.
-
That's how I know it will happen. Someone will always have a complaint no matter what happens. @Kruppstahl...I know I would feel the same. But I know Yankee fans and Sox fans and they aren't ever satisfied(especially with each other). It's not that I blame them either, I'm sure I will want more but like yourself I will always revel in the moment and it will be special. I won't be complaining but might be saying..."I rember when" and "those were the days".
-
What's lame is that someone would think that one cup would be enough to satisfy everyone. There will be people who will complain about how it was won. Say that we got "lucky". Or three years later aren't happy with the team because they didn't win a 2nd cup or a third one. I guarantee it will happen. Fire the GM....Fire the Coach....we need a new owner...it's been 2years since we won a cup.
-
I think he was being sarcastic due to one of my previous posts.
-
All they would be saying is "take out that 10 game streak, and we don't deserve the Cup".
-
If you read my post you would see that I'm not necessarily in favor of firing Phil in December. My 6 month leeway goes from that point to the end of next year. There would need to be severe signs of regression for me to get behind firing him at that point. And still would be concerned as to whom replaces him in a mid-season scramble for a coach. I think that a mid-season firing in Dec WILL have us having the same discussion in the next couple years and maybe more than once. Like you, I too would rather be discussing the 1st rd opponent and home ice, with a few moves and the high draft pick we might have, I feel confident that we just might be having those discussions next year.
-
I find it more likely that whatever this franchise does, that some people won't be happy.
-
Who were the top prospects that should not have been shelved? There aren't any in Roch that would be an upgrade to Mitts IMO. TT is another story. With that said, I do believe that they both could have benefited from at least a half season in the AHL and Roch would benefit also. The 2 top six forward trades no matter how you look at it personally, may be in some question, but are not totally "nothing" and still yet to be determined.
-
I might add that some people are willing to give PH until December next year. Outside the fact that if there is regression, I wouldn't fire him mid season for reason of "not enough" progress. The quality and quantity of your options aren't likely to be in your favor as much as at the end of season. Your options are likely someone whom has just been fired or someone whom has been unemployed for a time and in either case very few to pick from. If your looking for a coach like a Trotz, waiting until the season ends and finding one that either "fits your system",or maybe a disciplinarian, or a teacher, or any combo of those traits, would be my guess for having a choice of the coach you want/need. This is why I say PH should have one more year(which is actually only 1/2 year more than people are willing to give him). I can suffer another six months if need be to get this thing right.
-
I would either switch Skinner and Vlad or flip lines 2 and 3.
