My dream scenario.... We beat the Blues, they miss the playoffs by 1pt, and they become the 3rd team in the NHL with a 10 or more game win streak to miss the playoffs.

How can anyone around here forget ROR was here(as much as I'd like to). If St Louis misses the playoffs (again) by 1pt , we'll hear that everyone else on the team sucked. If they make the playoffs by a couple pts, we'll hear how it was because ROR made the difference and how we never should've made the trade.

Can we stop this talk....I starting to see this as the future, FFto the 3min mark. LOL

With your logic here it would seem that we should keep Botts/ PH duo. Darcy/TM/Botts==3rd GM Lindy/ RR/Nolan/Disco/ PH==5th HC We should win with these two.

But do you play hockey for a living and have someone hitting you with a stick, smashing your face into the boards, tripping you so that you crash into boards head 1st, cross-checking you in the throat for trying to win a battle in front of the net, charging you from behind like a bull, poking a stick in your jewels, etc.? Oh, and I forgot....licking your face.

So we'll have to settle for the fights in the stands instead? How do you suggest the league "protect" their investments (star players) worth MEGA MILLIONS? Maybe we could hand out a trophy to every participant that plays in a game that doesn't have any violence in it.

This is what concerns me the most. We tanked for Eichel and added Kane, ROR, Lehner while already having Sam, Risto, McCabe, Zemgus, and Larsson. We then still sucked and eventually traded Kane and tanked for Dahlin. Traded ROR and Traded for Skinner and Sheary. All of this happening two different regimes of GM's and Coaches and still managed to suck. yet, here we are again discussing "tanking" a season or not to get a better pick in the draft. We still have Sam, Risto, McCabe, Jack, Girgs, Larry,and even E-Rod and Ullmark. Sure, we added Skinner, Sheary, etc but lost Kane and ROR and here we are. Why should we expect any different outcome? We haven't really caught up talent wise as of yet to where we were with Kane/ ROR/& co. What's the saying?....repeating something over and over and over and expecting a different result?

I guess you're right....that's why I'm so glad I'm a Bills fan...4 times to look back on proudly missing the Lombardi by one win.

You're hoping to make the team better now by adding the 2C. Yet want to take a step back on the D and hope someone who's not developed yet or hasn't even left college or better yet hasn't even come to the US, will fill a good size hole in the D. Bogo and Nelson are already on the roster,,,,musical deck chairs? Samuelsson is likely a couple years away and Fitzgerald too. Didn't Oskari sign a 3yr with the SHL? Borgen is the best and maybe only one left. Dougherty and Hickey need more time likely in the AHL . All said and done, I just don't want to get rid of Risto without a replacement plan and my suggestion would be to try and trade for a player like Brett Pesce to help bring a more stable D and could be a good partner for Dahlin.

But he didn't build the team yet. The core was here for the most part....Jack, Sam, Risto, etc. He is in the process of adding to it.

That"s what I was getting at. If we trade Risto for a 2C it creates a hole that we still need to fill on D. I agree we need to address both.

And coincidentally one of those teams had ROR on it.

If they fired both and it doesn't matter at all....that says more about the players than management, especially seeing alot of these guys were here already before them.

There are always ways. Picks? Prospects? Draft? Risto is not out of the question by all means, just asking how you fill the hole create while fixing other hole and still make the team better. I don't want to take one step forward to trip on a crack in the sidewalk.

Then an upgrade is warranted and not creating a hole. I just saw your suggestion of Foote.Not sure it's an upgrade, I thought his skating wasn't good.
