I'm starting to think all the bad press and comments have pissed off the Pegulas and they've decided to say F it. Torture us for a year even before selling it off. Not only tear the house down but take all the copper wiring and pipes when they leave.

I would say with signing Dannault to the big deal LA is out. Vegas might be in. They cleared cap for something. Ducks might still be in. Re-signing Getzlaf MIGHT mean they promised him a better team but unlikely. Rangers and Minnesota maybe but we'd probably take on a contract or two. I think KA's options are shrinking by the minute. Unless there is in fact a strange Vegas deal in the works.

Nothing personal, but I think when this is the positive, things are pretty grim.

Our philosophy is clearly draft and sign guys with big long names. They are either trying to force RJ into retirement or convince him to stay on with the opportunities for creativity, depending on how you want to look at it.

Depends how you look at it. Seems to me though that most of those high ranked years didn't turn out to be reality as few of the prospects amounted to anything in the NHL. Too many Baileys and Baptistes.

They won't give Ullmark that much but the interest is because they don't rush their prospects like we do. Swayman is up and coming, but putting a whole season on him is asking a lot. As for Rask, there is less than zero chance he'd come here, or most anywhere else other than Boston. He'd retire first.

I read this one early this morning and laughed. Every time there's a Buffalo trading someone rumour the vultures pop out and propose ideas that help their team at our expense. Sure, hey, while you're trading away star players why don't you guys give us your young D man and we'll give you Mr. Playoff Invisible. That's fair right? Every freaking time. Laugh's fans always looking for somebody else to help them out of their cap woes.

Nick Foligno rumoured to be possibly going to Minnesota. I told you the idea of playing with his brother would appeal to him. Putting Marcus into part of an Eichel deal with Minnesota would have been brilliant. and yes I know Nick ain't what he used to be but those two as leaders for these kids.........come on, that would show them the way!

Pretty sure he will get even less if it's not done before free agency hits and some potential trade partners move on with their plan B. Any big signings from Minnesota or NY or LA etc. will pretty much tell you they are out of the running.

He'd be a good FA for us imo. Sign him and Kuraley from the Bruins. Adds some grit and veteran leadership and maybe they can bring some of that Bruin locker room comradery to our young guys.

I agree fully. I was saying I have a feeling THEY are going to have UPL and Power on the roster in the fall, not that I want that or agree with it.

I want to look at it this way too, and so far they haven't traded away draft picks for a quick fix and adding "stars" but I think the question does remain, is this the bottom (I want to believe it is) or do they also plan to try to add Shane Wright to go along with Power? What they do or don't do from now until the start of the season should answer that.

One also has to keep in mind that at this time Buffalo is not an attractive destination for free agent hockey players. As a new GM attempting to instill a new culture KA cannot afford to come off as hard ass or vindictive. They have to try to create an image of a supportive team that values their players. It's a true rock and a hard place situation. Jack, on the other hand will b forgiven instantly as soon as he starts scoring for whoever. Memories are short term for fans and easily changed with wins. I suspect Jack's agent will be putting more pressure on this week and if it's not done before free agency things will get ugly.
