  1. Maturity, character, leadership. Let him go back and win a championship. It'll do him good learning to be a winner.
  2. Don't like this pick. Don't like it at all. He might not be horrible. He might even be good. Just not my type of player.
  3. Back to college for one year. Anything else is dumb.
  4. Ya I just saw that . Step behind here and there. Arizona might take Wallstedt and not Johnson.
  5. Buffalo - Power Seattle - Beniers Anaheim - McTavish NJ - Hughes Columbus - Guenther Detroit - Eklund San Jose - Clarke LA - Edvinsson Vancouver - Johnson Ottawa - Wallstedt However, if we could get those trades done and Eichel went to the Ducks and Reinhart to the Canucks I'd love to see McTavish in blue and gold along with Wallstedt.
  6. In fairness I think he was hired to do that and be that guy. They wanted their version of a Don Cherry (and later for HNIC Burke). That was his role.
  7. wow, Power down to 6 behind Clarke. You crazy dude. Some of it I agree with though. You've moved McTavish up as well I see. Good to see you've sort of come around on L'Heureux. When we first talked you suggested him for second round. Very surprised about Edvinsson who I would put ahead of Clarke, top 10. and Cossa seems low (and maybe Wallstedt a little high). So to sum, you really like Eklund, and you like Clarke and Wallstedt higher than most and Power and Edvinsson lower than most. Is that about right?
  8. @LGR4GM, did you post that full ranking list you promised? I was curious. Did I miss it?
  9. So you want a guy who disappears every post season? No thank you. I notice McTavish has just kept steadily moving up and up in rankings and comparisons. I had him as a potential draft steal earlier on and now it looks like he's a top 5 candidate. He's my #3 now. (Power, Beniers, McTavish)
  10. That's a really good trade. I can see why Philly did it, but unless we screw up those picks badly it's good and it's more than I expected. Hagg started his career decently, showed promise, but he sucks now. Makes tons of mistakes. I am guessing they see him as a placeholder for one season if Power goes back to Uni, which he should. Personally that 14th (13th if you prefer) pick is a perfect spot to steal L'Heureux ahead of the better teams that will take him around 20ish but I doubt we do that. Otherwise Cossa or Wallestadt should not be passed on if either is still available. and 2023 does look like a good draft .
  11. TSN tonight was saying every single Canadian team is currently looking to add a top 4 D man so if KA can't get a deal done for Risto he needs to be fired.
  12. Like an idiot I keep coming back here today expecting something to actually happen.
  13. I think that's only half right. Played well against Washington but the NYI knew how to shut him down and did it. Not sure why you think he played bad defense. I think I remember bruins being happy with his 2 way effort. If they pay him more than Marchand though Bruins fans will be unforgiving in their expectations and let him know it. Could cost Sweeney his job if Hall doesn't deliver.
  14. Of course anything is possible, but I think it would be truly fragile here and easily fall off the rails. They are supposed to be the leaders and if we hit another losing streak...............
  15. Signing a goalie obviously huge and necessary but let's see what the price was before celebrating. Risto to Philly? Would make sense.
  16. This is where we fundamentally disagree I guess. If Jack and Sam are still Sabres (disgruntled Sabres with years of baggage) the attempt to turn a page and start a new direction will fail miserably and when the NMC clause and the free agency kicks in we're totally screwed. It's now or never.
  17. Don't see how you concluded that. I've been pretty consistent in stating that our direction has been wrong for some time now and the old so called "core" has to go. My comments about the Kraken are in regard to that age old dilemma of how do you pick a new team to cheer for when you've been a lifelong fan of one but are just so damn sick of it all. What do you do? So the Kraken is fresh and new and near my home (relatively). They, unlike us, appear to share similar views to me in terms of team building, so it is getting tempting. It's not easy though. I am still hoping KA does what needs to be done.
  18. Absolutely. I'll put it on Tik Tok for you.
  19. If it's Minnesota, as the many rumours suspect, what salary do we take on? Dumba? Is their D good enough without him to just dump his salary? I'm thinking no. After the buyouts not sure who they'd want to shed . Unless it's spectacular in return, if we trade away the 1st to either Seattle or Anaheim I'm done. And if it is Seattle I'm definitely a Kraken fan. I sure hope we look different. If next to nothing happens it'll be a mess.
  20. maybe. Only UPL and JJ have me excited.
  21. What's really telling is how ridiculously weak that AHL group is. and of course.............no goalie.
  22. there really was nothing.
  23. Looking at that roster they picked I don't think JBot had anything to do with player selection. perhaps his Kraken role is more on the business side of GM duties. francis has him do the boring paperwork and other stuff he doesn't want to do. Unless he's changed drastically, that was NOT a JBot team. Kraken went young. Kraken went character. I am one foot closer to the door................
