  1. Well that was a fun read, and I can't disagree with any of it. Regarding ROR, I still think it broke down when they made Jack captain. If they'd given the C to ROR maybe things would have gone differently. or in hindsight, maybe the one who should have been traded then was Jack. In any event, cleaning house was the right move and I'm glad KA did it. Now maybe we get to stop talking about draft position in December and focus on playoff possibilities. Jack can just be forgotten about, wallowing out west until he leaves Vegas and becomes a Bruin which I still think will happen one day. Then we can really relish a downfall and reversal.
  2. I guess I'm different. I don't care about the draft pick. It'll be some guy we hope is good later. Maybe will maybe won't. I want Eichel to lose. I want him to never win. His post game comments after the home coming said all that needs to be said. Yes, I blame Eichel for our decade of frustrations. I want an Eichel stick smash. That would make my night.
  3. Pang was crazy small. Skinny too. Remember Gary Bromley? I'm thinking he was pretty small but played some big games for a while. Small goalies have a tougher time making it, but if they have the speed and agility they can succeed. I think Levi will be just fine.
  4. Last thing out of Philly I heard was they are not sure when (or if) he will be back. Even if he is back, he's far too damaged to take a chance on imo. Philly fans all feel they got damaged goods in that deal and are stuck with his contract.
  5. Ellis has a bum hip. I would steer clear of that gamble.
  6. You might have to be a member to read this, but this thread is a fun read from the sidelines. https://hfboards.mandatory.com/threads/is-the-golden-knights-problem-jack-eichel.2879670/
  7. Although it's a sin around here you all know Boston's my B team, but I don't think they have a realistic shot. Canes smoked them in the regular season with their speed. It'll likely be closer, but not by much. Going to pull for the underdogs and whoever plays the Leafs. Looking forward to some of the nasty coming out with Preds, Minni, Calgary, Washington, Florida, even Tampa. Fair bit of scrappiness in some of these teams. If Florida wins the cup and Sam gets the Conn Smyth I may have to give it up for good. So not that. Anything but that.
  8. Pity they won't meet in the first round. That was a possibility at one point but now I'm guessing the Leaf management is very worried instead. If it's Florida Washington, that will be a brutal slugfest.
  9. Well fair enough, but I think that first roster all felt like they were cast offs and played with chips on their shoulders. It was a different sort of import.
  10. Fair enough, but they are harder to find. Most of the really good team guys stick with their teams and their teams recognize their value and sign them before free agency. That's a generalization obviously and if you find a guy that's the right fit it can work, but off the top of my head I can't think of many cases where that worked. More often big name free agent signings bust or are merely okay for their new teams.
  11. They had great team chemistry and a all for one, one for all thing going with Gallant, but management got greedy and added "stars" and they lost the chemistry. There's a lesson for all in this. Team first. Develop your own stars, don't try to import them.
  12. You can view that sort of thing a different way though. If you put individual players ahead of the organization, ahead of the team, you end up pampering them and worrying about their needs and then the organization falters. This is what we did with Eichel. Everything was always about Eichel. Is Eichel happy? What can we do to make Eichel happy? etc etc etc. and now it's about the Sabres again. That's how it should be. No individual should be ahead of the team, it should always be team first and they should want to be part of that. Adams seems to have this part right, finally.
  13. Tuesday game in Dallas is must see tv.
  14. Haha! Vegas blew their game with the Sharks and lost in a SO.
  15. Who does he work for? Coyotes or Flyers?
  16. If I were KA I would definitely make him an offer. He's actually been a decent PK guy too so a definite upgrade from Hayden.
  17. I'd love that, but I doubt it. A little heart and soul toughness is just what this team could use to add to the talent of the youngsters. They love him there though, so I doubt he's a guy they'd move out.
  18. Sounds like Lindy's lost his team. 10-1 they turf him after the season ends.
  19. This is a funny homer thread. If Skinner wasn't on this team every single one of you would say he yaps too much and deserves a smack in the mouth, which is what he will get when teams start taking us seriously if he keeps doing it. Oh and a spear in the back of the knee is a dirty play, like it or not. Not saying I have a problem with it, I don't, but it is dirty and Skinner can be at times. Marchand is dirty, no question, but he doesn't yap nearly as much any more, and he backs it up himself. Seems a little burnt out these days to be honest. Think he's on the fade.
  20. 32 Thoughts made it sound even more like the issues with Lehner here. According to them, Lehner didn't like the criticism his play was getting and so he told them it was because of his injury and he was shutting it down for the surgery, but then the agent got in and talks happened and maybe he will dress for the next game after all. Whatever the full story, can't be good going forward. He's a moody guy, and the bright lights of Vegas seem to be getting to him.
  21. LA still pulls it out so they are looking pretty good now for 3rd. Starting to worry a little about Nashville faltering, but that Tuesday game is still going to be huge.
  22. I know how the rule worked, but I would have left Bjork unprotected, dangling him out there hoping that a team with a plethora of D men available might have grabbed the forward instead. If they'd still taken Borgen you live with it, but we didn't really have anyone else on offer worth looking at (at the time). Might also have considered trading back for him. They dumped Lauzon off for a second rounder because they had too many D men. A deal for Borgen without giving anything substantial away might have been possible. Just sayin, water under the bridge now.
  23. Plays like he's 50
