  1. I would definitely make Lazar an offer for that role but I'm not sure he'd want to come back. I suspect he will get a few offers for that same role, one of them probably from the Bruins. I disagree on Bjork though. I don't know why people think he has a higher ceiling. Boston thought that too. They tried him on the top line with Bergeron, then the 2nd line with Krejci, then the 3rd and then the 4th and then he only made the line up when they had injuries. He can skate, but that's pretty much where it ends. The Hall situation and trade was a total debacle for the Sabres and is best just forgotten. I just wish we'd left Bjork unprotected and then MAYBE the Kraken would have thought he had that ceiling too and we'd still have Borgen. Not that Borgen is all that, but he is RHD and Bjork is a depth scrub and nothing more.
  2. If he didn't go after Dreidger this year, why would he go after him for next year (especially after a rather less than stellar season)? I doubt we make any trades at all. At least not anything significant. I would. Adams won't.
  3. I actually think they will sign a bunch of marginal veteran players to fill up Rochester next year. Hayden types. Increasing our depth and not really worrying about Rochester at all. They will let most of the "pipeline" stay in Russia or Europe or college etc. and aren't worried about it at all. As for worrying about young players pricing themselves out of the team I wouldn't worry about that. We're far from that good and aside from Thompson nobody's earned a fat payday yet (and even he is just going off one season).
  4. Really don't want Oilers to win because of Kane. Can't stand Laughs winning. Minnesota owned St. Louis tonight. That one I enjoyed. Listening to Foligno mic'd up I miss him even more. Dumb dumb trade.
  5. Not true. The issue was salary. Bjork made more than Lazar so they had to shed his salary but wanted a body in return. That's how they sold it to Buffalo anyway. They were probably happy to deal Bjork for Lazar, although no one in Boston expected him to make the team when they got him and he's fit in perfectly, love's it there and gives them maximum effort. Will be interesting to see if they give him a bump in pay or let him walk (unless he signs another low team friendly deal).
  6. Thank you. As it should be.
  7. Yup, I've been saying that all season. He's a ball of energy and never quits. Can't score, but good on the PK and hits any and everybody. Dirt cheap contract too. Oh please, not even close.
  8. No, that won't happen if it's Tuch. He will bleed blue and gold.
  9. lol, fair enough, but it gave me something to paint and clean in. It has some good stains on it. so they say...........................
  10. Well we won't, but if we did I'm sure we will make the Wright choice.
  11. I personally think there should be a separation between the league (the broadcasts) and gambling ads/promotions the same way you don't advertise cigarettes or alcohol on kids programs. Sports is an all ages event after all and gambling is an addiction. Aside from that, free choice and everything so toss your money away if you want to. personally I have no use for fantasy sports or betting. I might make a bet with a friend or something but more for fun. I own a Flyers jersey I never wear from one of those, but that's harmless fun. Gambling is for fools (but then again my stocks and investments this year make me a bigger fool so maybe I'm wrong...........)
  12. I personally don't find defensive hockey boring but I get your point. The Nashville Colorado game had few goals but was pretty intense and a good game I thought.
  13. I'm just saying 2 years ago if anyone had suggested Kyle as captain they'd have been mocked and laughed at so it's kind of funny to see all this love for him now. The short term thing is my point really. It's time to solidly build forward and not look at temporary things. Kyle could have a crap year next season. He might reach his end and struggle with the tempo. He might get dealt at the deadline. I want a captain who stays captain for years to come. You can see Tuch's demeanor, attitude, the local boy thing. Everything got better with his arrival. Naming him captain will make his day and he will give back all he can and be a lifer. correct.
  14. Wow people jump on and off the bandwagons fast here. Two years ago Kyle had a horrible contract, we were stuck with dead money, how could we get rid of him, and now Saint Kyle for captain. He can keep the A, but I still say anything other than Tuch as Captain will be a mistake.
  15. He was spectacular but alas not enough. Would have been a better series if he'd stolen this one. Dallas on the other hand has made that Calgary series interesting.
  16. No, I don't just mean fighting, but I've watched them all year, and they don't hit that much. Definitely not big bad Bruins. I think that ended when St. Louis out hit them, basically beat them at their own game, and won the cup on Bruin's ice. They're not soft or anything, but only McAvoy really delivers the bone crushing checks.
  17. Well the Sabres blatantly tanked but we didn't get McDavid so doesn't that prove that it works? I personally don't care if teams want to tank. That's between them and their fans, so I agree we should just give the top pick to the worst team. But the lottery's fine. Unlike the NFL where first rounders usually make the team and impact right away there's still skill and luck in drafting these prospects and top rated picks don't always become top players so it's a different thing entirely.
  18. That is my understanding as well. Personally I don't care which year. It was satisfying to see Jack fail and be frustrated. Return game to Buffalo was the highlight of the season. We get a better pick than we expected and if they defer it we get a (long) shot at Bedard and a stronger draft so it's win win for us and a solid trade.
  19. Take the "big" out. No Chara, no Miller, no Lucic. I mean they really didn't do anything much in retaliation. Not even a solid hit on Svechnikov. They are definitely a team in decline and maybe that's a playoff spot we can compete for next year with Detroit, the Islanders or whoever. Compared to the Sabres maybe, but are they really tough any more? Not really.
  20. More just frustration and maybe payback for the hit on Lindholm I think but these ain't the big bad Bruins. They are slow and not that tough.
  21. I'm just curious and maybe it's a hard question but if anybody knows, how many playoff teams have current active rosters that would have put them over the cap if it was regular season? Any?
  22. Yes, and I should have also said - and how hard you hit. A little bump into the boards and a partial head shot that takes a guy out of the game are both counted as 1 hit.
  23. Inside. I'm not suggesting it affects his career or anything, but as a person I'm sure when Reinhart gave him a hard time inside he was thinking "what a d..." even if he had to be professional about it and INSIDE it gives him some satisfaction if Reinhart fails. Justifies his critiques, even if it is just to himself. Hence the stat post with no commentary. Let's it speak for itself. Bruins sticking with Ullmark tonight. I suspect they go down 2-0. Personally hoping the Laughs Tampa series gets nastier.
  24. I personally want the era of amassing picks and waiting for next year to be over so get the prospect this year and move on. Keep most if not all of our picks for the future, but win, just win.
  25. I do. I think it's a clear shot at the guy. It's an easy shot, and if Florida bounces back he might regret taking it, but Reinhart dumped on him and now he's taking a shot. I'm amused.
