  1. i was able to schedule a vaccine appointment for my wife and me. the location is really far away, but i am so glad i was able to get something. it auto scheduled it for us for 1 month apart for the second dose, so hopefully by april we will be able to see my family again. we couldnt get the same day, but i am honestly not going to complain because i am a high risk person, i have basically lived like a hermit for the past year. i think i have left my house only like 5 or 6 times this past year. i got up at 4:30am to start trying to get the appointment today since today was the first day cvs was making appointments. by 730am they were fully booked i am honestly ready for life to go back to normal, i have been a nervous wreck about it
  2. The members of Congress and senate, etc got their vaccine right away, first in line. To them, everything is hunky dory. Besides they have bigger fish to fry right now over public health.
  3. mikko koivu retired just 7 games into the season https://www.startribune.com/former-wild-captain-mikko-koivu-retires-after-slow-start-with-columbus/600021023/
  4. I had read recently that the us Gov is suggesting 10 days of quarantine if you are around someone with positive. I dont remember if that also needed a negative test during tjhe period. I suspect that the whole team will be positive. Its pretty sad the nba, nhl, mlb can get it right and nhl royally messes it up
  5. In nj, obese people are considered high risk, so they are priority 1b
  6. This ralph kruegar news is terrible. I really hope he is ok. With them playing, i never worried much about the players because they are professional athletes. I worried about the coaches and training staff which might be a high risk
  7. I have seen some dumb arguments on this board, this can't possibly be the dumbest. In fact arguing the sabres should jump the line for any reason is way dumber. Maybe im wrong, but im sure there are some that would agree Good thing everyone is allowed an opinion
  8. Hockey is so low on the essential jobs list, its shocking this was the argument. Lets try this. If there are 50 people in each area that are willing to donate their dose to the nhl teams, by all means go ahead. But you would then be moved to their position in line. Which would be towards the end as they are healthy, young people. If you can find 50 people to do it, more power to them. I wouldn't offer mine up
  9. It doesn't deny them, but it would certainly delay them There is not an unlimited supply at this point. Every dose given to high risk person is reducing the death rate. Giving it to someone low risk of serious health issues is silly. Why not give it to actors first or movie stars. Would you like to give your dose and a spouse's dose to matt irwin and sheary and the next one in line for you to actors and anyone else who is famous entertainment people. Where does it end, it is not even a matter of it being pushed off a day or so, there are not enough doses for the people whos lives are literally at risk, and you want to give it to someone who has a high percentage of not even getting sick or having a very mild case. Im not raising my hand to donate my dose, i was surprised they didnt just cancel the season
  10. My sister in law was suspiciously able to get it for her and her husband. she said she used the obesity clause, which is nonsence because they are both average build. I say its suspicious because she works for pfizer. If she said i work for Pfizer so i was able to get it, i would not question it. However her being able to not only get an appointment for herself and her husband the same day it was available seemed too suspicious to me
  11. I was speaking generally. of course there will be young people that get it bad. It sickens me that nj is throwing away doses when they said on the site they will contact people to see who can get there right away
  12. I dont know how it is in ny since im in nj. There is a long waiting list that you have to sign up for with the vaccine. If there is unclaimed doses at the end of the day, they said in the form that they will contact people by email and say they have doses and you can claim it if you can get there by x time. In Nj they aren't throwing them away. They are giving it to people that want it, in the priority order defined by the state This is a global health issue and prioritizing young, healthy athletes over anyone else for entertainment reasons only is nonsense. I signed up in nj close to a month ago or whatever day the sign up went live. I am a high risk person, who has basically been a hermit for a year. I haven't seen my family in a year because of it. I would lose my skull if they prioritized athletes over people that realyy need and want it. It would be different if the virus affextrd young people in top notch shape, but it doesn't. This being a discussion at all baffles me
  13. I dont care about them enough to make them fo to the end of the line, but they shouldn't be prioritized because of it.
  14. not only should they not jump the line, they are healthy, young people, which means they should be at the very end of the line
  15. Im still surprised that they are playing this way. I mean they are putting players, staff, coaches, etc at risk
  16. looks like a good game. first period was fun to watch
  17. WIFE: I think I can get us outta New Jersey. MILES: Yeah? Well, don't be so sure. Others have tried and failed. The entire population, in fact.
  18. Hmmm. I dont get the usa network. I need to just move to buffalo already. I hate nj anyways
  19. I got email that im eligible for vaccine now, but they dont have any to give me. Once some is available, they will email me
  20. I hope ullmark doesn't try to come back so soon
  21. I am the first to bag on our lousy tenders. But. In this season, excluding the first game, our tending has been fine. Last night they gave up 2 by the 3rd string goalie. I think the issue is scoring so far If ullmark is out for a while, they need someone, but otherwise, so far so good
