  1. Our defense isn't bad (barring Bogosian minutes). Miller was the weak link, but has come back to his expectation. McCabe still has dunce moments. Jokiharju and Dahlin aren't even 20yo and if you compare them appropriately, they are doing amazing. This has been a great season to watch as we rarely are hemmed in our own zone. Does nobody remember Bylsma hockey? We would sit in our own zone for half the game and our only goals came from breakaways. Now teams respect us, let us break out, and play 1-2-2 jamming it all up because our offense is so thin and they know one of our dunces is going to eventually make a mistake. Our starting goaltending spent half the season being bad, started to play average, then hurt himself. Our back-up goaltending has been monumentally bad. Any team is going to struggle with that. The lack of depth on offense, especially for a team that had multiple top-6 players get injured, is going to struggle. I'm not sure what people were expecting? Even though this is year-3 of Botterill, we are depending upon Murray's picks to step-up at this point and he only has one guy who made it (a 7th rounder..) beyond the 2OA picks. The problem here is people's expectations on this season after the injuries. Or how Botterill is somehow going to make UFA's sign in the least desired city in the country on some sort of discount? Instead he traded 3/4th round picks for those veterans instead, and they're mostly all underperforming.
  2. Johansson looked bad. Weak goals all around. Sabres hit posts all night. Luck isn’t always on your side.
  3. The rumors at the time were Pat wanted to compete and Murray wanted to tank so he quit. Murray tanked for a year then spent every asset like a crack *****.
  4. New anti-tank strategy Havent 32 players ended their NHL careers in Buffalo the last 5 years, lol
  5. It’s a third round pick. Those really aren’t worth much
  6. Even when Eichel is mailing games in he’s getting multiple points
  7. Reinhart with his patented - the season is over time to show up routine
  8. What kind of contract can we give Lazar? 3 yrs 1 mil?
  9. I thought Georgiev was good. Even muffinhands can score on him
  10. Does Reinhart have the total implosion of franchises on his CV?
  11. Why does Mittelstadts name keep popping up I thought he was a bust
  12. Since when did the Sabres learn to look for the trailer on zone entries? Could’ve used that... fifty games ago
  13. Oh cool Rsq If you want to make an ‘analysis’ you’re also going to need a p value Cheers
  14. jack improved body language Reinhart has gotten worse personally, while openly blaming his teammates to the media. The following game he wants to play victim after openly blaming his teammates for not trying hard enough? Cry me a river and get this kid his own bike
  15. Sam wants to lead but has piss poor body language. Bad leader.
  16. ROR admitted it himself. In Buffalo he was looked up to as a leader and couldn’t handle the pressure. That pressure was gone in St Louis. And that team was still last place until January. So much for “utterly destroyed’
  17. Trade! ROR wouldn’t have turned his attitude around without being dealt. Reinhart was always his entitled disciple.
  18. The article is ambiguous and says it was both. I’m saying good goaltending may also lead to better play from the exact same players. dunno how many interviews with Sabre’s players you need for them to admit they play bad when they don’t trust their goalie.
  19. Not according to Armstrong or the players themselves. Relevant quotes in the article: https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/st-louis-blues-2019-turnaround-playoffs-big-read/
  20. I think the outrage is an overreaction to bad goaltending. That was literally the difference between last place St Louis and Stanley Cup St Louis last season. Ullmark has had a bumpy road and Hutton has been absolutely horrid. No team can do anything with the goaltending they’ve had this year. No team. Now at the end of the season the injuries is topping the league in man games lost against on an already thin forward corp. He got D depth and gave two goaltenders a shot, but even with a bonafide 2C this team was an injury away from problems, and that’s with their roster having to overcome the goaltending. Yes we need more forwards, but to say Botts failed, etc. what do you want? What other goalie was this team getting that’s changing their performance? Who was predicting Button turning into an absolute turd. It’s also not like we don’t have goalie options in the future-6K is in the system and is as good as goalie prospects can be at this stage. Teams aren’t giving away good goaltenders either.
