  1. He won’t last long after stopping working
  2. Let’s belittle a 100% choice driven action that kills people daily. Tee hee hee https://www.stltoday.com/business/local/tim-hortons-franchisee-closes-all-four-remaining-st-louis-restaurants/article_e825f14f-481e-507f-9477-677902cc5fb6.html
  3. If he didn’t get injured his wheels still would have fallen off halfway through the season. We’re seeing it now.
  4. Does anyone truly believe there was a place in Buffalo for the guy who introduced himself to the town by drunk drive crashing into a restaurant named after a guy in our rafters who died drunk driving? They closed the last Timmy’s in St Louis before he moved
  5. We don’t add a forward unless we’re trading youth for established. There’s no sense in trading a top pick for established- we will need that youth in a few years from now.
  6. StLouis was literally last place until they changed coaches that season and radically changed some big mistakes and rode that high through the cup. Been downhill ever since then and ROR brings no leadership. StLouis just wasn’t a tire fire for him to set off
  7. Both trades were the same. Remove locker room cancers and bring in kids with skill and culture. People are just impatient.
  8. Relying on rookie upgrades reminds me of the sad Baptise/Bailey year of disappointment. Please don’t be round two. Bryson and Fitzgerald have no spot on a playoff team. We need to push them that far out for a successful off season.
  9. It’s going to get a lot better. Just it we want it to elevate to ‘good’ a seasoned skilled vet is thought to get it there. Some options in UFA but really we have too many rookies and can sent the runt away to cap strapped teams to pick off who they overpaid but isn’t a cancer.
  10. Only guy here not surprised by Tage’s ascension doesn’t know how this all works. Got it.
  11. It was opposing teams. Eichel first year teams didn’t game plan to stop Eichel, just contain a bad team. By his second year opposing teams realized the Sabres only had offense throug Eichel and chose to sacrifice those minutes to just playing defense and it worked.
  12. Reinhart is a better overall player, but there are many teams I don’t think would pay the salary premium over Oloffson. Oloffson brings an elite aspect to his game whereas Reinhart is an above average all around player. Depends on what roles a team is missing.
  13. 1. MVP - Tuch. The leader we always needed. Without him we don’t have the late seasons success 2. Rookie - Samuelsson 3. Comeback - Skinner (Okposo close second) 4. Unsung Hero - Mittelstadt 5. Top Forward - Thompson. Usually there’s a most improved category he’d knock out of the park 6. Team Norris - Dahlin 7: Team Vezina - Anderson, though his wheels are noticeably about to fall off. I don’t think he could’ve done all 82 games
  14. Them winning the lottery doesn’t push them above 10th pick. We want them to win it.
  15. He isn’t going to regress. He isn’t going to be worse as he ages, he doesn’t use his speed or athleticism to succeed. It’s his stick handling and reach and those age well. Lock him up now for 8 years.
  16. Oh my Bryson and Fitz better not even play next season. They aren’t ‘core’
  17. Krebs gonna get moved to a team who can’t handle the cap hit.
  18. STL won the trade full stop. Any eight year monster contract is worth a cup win. And STL wasn’t winning that cup that year without ROR. That’s what this is all about. But STL’s win and Buffalo’s is not mutually exclusive. The Sabres keeping ROR was not getting into any playoffs. There were no leaders in a toxic room. ROR wasn’t changing that. STL has gone sour after the afterglow of the trade wore off. Remember they were dead last until they changed coaches that season too. In 2022 the Sabres are in a better position with Tage than they would be with ROR. For this I don’t think one can say Buffalo lost the trade. Just took a decade of suffering. A decade of bad drafting followed by intentional Tank and total disregard for human factors, followed by over correction of human factors with self help scam artists in the way and this trade wasn’t fixing that. The biggest scab was Eichel and we finally pulled that one off. Now we have a budding superstar with no ego and a brother future. amd Tage is a better hockey player. You can pay a 4th liner to do what ROR did at a premium on the defensive end, and you can use a different body for the offense and not result in a guy who has to play 25-30 minutes a night to fill in two gaps on a team.
  19. Power is getting beat multiple times a game but has confidence and size and just needs time. Good thing the team isn’t competing right now. I’ve loved Tage since the day of the trade and knew he just needed some time. Injuries and bad coaches set him back. Any more strawmen? His value is high because y’all don’t see the bust yet.
