I would imagine Jbot said that he was going to talk to other candidates and would get back to McClellan. McClellan, with an offer on the table from LA already may not want to wait and instead will take the sure thing and sign with LA. Smart from both men’s point of view.

I think McClellan will go to LA. Leafs won’t let us interview Keefe. Holding out hope for AV. But I think when all is said and done, we end up with Taylor. Which is absolutely my least preferred outcome here.

At this point there’s no reason for him not to wait until July 1st comes and see which team offers him the most. I expect that’s what will happen.

The stat most often overlooked with the Sabres is shooting percentage. They consistently suck at it, year after year. It’s why they don’t score enough goals, they can’t shoot. Corsi is fun to look at, nothing else matters if you can’t bury your chances when you have them. And they can’t.

Why hasn’t he signed then? I don’t think it’s automatic he stays at all. Obviously they haven’t come close to an agreement or it would have been done already. I’d say 50-50 at best he comes back.

I don’t trust Botterill or Pegula not to put too much stock in these last two games. I still say PH stays, but I want him gone. These two wins meant nothing. Doesn’t excuse the last 3-4 months.

I’m amazed at how many people think PH is gone next week. When it comes to the Sabres, the Pegulas have done almost nothing right in 8 years. Why in the world do people think the Pegulas will get THIS right and fire Housley? I want PH gone. I don’t think it’ll happen. If I had to bet my bank account on this, I’d put my money on he’s coming back.

Our odds are currently 9.5% for the first pick, 9.6% for the 2nd pick, and 9.7% for the third pick. If NJ and LA can pass us during this final week, a distinct possibility, we are sitting very pretty.

Ruff will be coming back as assistant coach if AV is hired. AV picked him for his staff on the Rangers a few years ago, he’d most likely want to do it again. And Pegula would LOVE it.

These are exactly the kind of moves Pegula loves. Anything to bring back the glory days of the past. Don’t discount it. I definitely could see it happening if AV is the next HC.

If AV comes here, does he try to bring Lindy Ruff in as an assistant? AV brought him to the Rangers a few years ago. I can see Pegula loving the AV hire if he can get Lindy to come back. In Pegulas mind that will be instant excitement for Sabres fans and great PR.

No other franchise would let a coach survive that. Only here in Buffalo with the Pegulas does this type of crap happen. Don’t hold your breath the Pegulas do the right thing here.

When McDavid and Eichel were coming out in 2015, McDavid was described as a “10” and Eichel a “9.5”. In reality McDavid is an “11” and Eichel is a “8.5”. I like Eichel but he definitely isn’t in the same universe as McDavid, which is how it was spun four years ago by a lot of experts.

Rob Ray and most likely not an improved version of the Sabres will be back to torture you and all of us in October!! Lol we’ve been saying this for 8 years now. Where have you been? It ain’t going to be better next year either.
