Sabres need to just punt on OT games. Always the same result.

That’s why they won’t trade him. There is no return suitable enough to convince Adams to give up his #1 draft choice. That’s the dilemma we are in. Once we have a different GM the odds go way up of a trade for quite a few of these guys. The next GM won’t be emotionally married to these guys like Adams is.

Ruff shouldn’t be a head coach in the NHL anymore.

Why? So he can continue to drag down this team and keep leading to more losses?

2nd game in a row where they give up the tying goal in the late stages, can’t hold onto a one goal lead and then lose in OT. Was a major problem the last few seasons as well. Still don’t know how to finish games.

UPL very very rarely can make the huge save when it’s needed. That’s why he’s not a #1 goalie. We know what we have in him. No idea why they felt the need to rush him back. I said it was stupid days ago before it even happened and tonight we saw yet again why he’s NOT the answer. Let’s see what we have in Lyon and Ellis. Ruff and Adams aren’t smart enough to do that.

Guess the TNT crew will have no choice but to praise the Sabres now. This should be an interesting post game show. It’ll be like pulling teeth for them to be nice to Buffalo.

Sabres have been a completely different team the past week. Hopefully the young guys are learning and the veterans start waking up. Could be formidable.

He’s probably the best on the team at screens. Has been for years.

Doan might end up being the most consequential addition by trade the Sabres have had during the drought.

Right. It’ll build the kids confidence and more importantly hopefully it will build Ruff and Adams confidence in him and give him a longer opportunity here.

I’m worried they won’t give Ellis enough starts to really see what we have in him before they inevitably force UPL back in the lineup here. It’s not like they will keep UPL in Rochester for long.

Not just this summer. Previous ones too.

I’m actually starting to believe the Sabres may have the horses to make a playoff run IF they could clear out ALL the coaches and GM. If we had a GM and coaching staff that actually knew what to do with this team, we might be closer than I originally thought. The sooner Adams, Ruff and company are gone, the better. Hopefully our mentally challenged owner wakes up sooner rather than later. But I wont hold my breath. Montreal and Detroit have passed us in the rebuild phase. That is 100% on ownership, management and coaching.

He’s taking on way more of a leadership role this year. He’s showing he cares. Hopefully it spreads to his teammates. We cant have only a handful that give it their all.

Second time in less than a week that Thompson has come to the aid of Dahlin who was getting pummeled yet again. Thompson may not be putting up great numbers yet this year but he is already showing me more than he has in his career here so far.

Ruff doesn’t scare anybody anymore. His teams 20-25 years ago were scared to death of him. Even Rayzor was. Soft players + no consequences = your Buffalo Sabres.

Tage and Dahlin actually both have their golden parachutes ready for later in the year or offseason. Both have long term deals and 31 other teams that will gladly trade for them. There is ZERO pressure on either of them if this season goes south. They have seen the path forward multiple times by others to get out of this clown show. I fully expect one or both of them to use it. Quite frankly Tuch would be insane to sign here as well when he can have his choice of destinations in a few months.

The only real question remaining with this club is do they clean house in November and actually see if by some miracle they can save their season or do they (far more likely) wait until April to do it. Either way I feel fairly safe saying this “should” be the final year of the Ruff/Adams experiment. Any other sports franchise I’d be 99% sure of this. With the Sabres it’s 50/50 at best they do anything consequential.

If he’s smart he’s planning out his next destination.

That will probably earn KA an extension Winning is just not the focus in Sabreland.
