If the management expected to win with the goaltending they chose to go with this year we are in bigger trouble than we thought. It’s far more reasonable to conclude they didn’t expect to win. I’m guessing you must know the answer.

The Sabres could upgrade in goal if they really really wanted to try and win more games this year. They won’t try to upgrade and it’s a real shame. This team is playing much better than anyone including their own management expected.

Sorry but your premise is wrong in regards to Pittsburgh. Mario’s rookie season was 1984-85. Recchi’s rookie season was 1988-89. Jagr’s rookie season was 1990-91. The Pens won their first cup in 1990-91. So it wasnt even close to a decade for the Pens to win. It was Mario’s 7th year, Recchi’s 3rd year and Jagr’s 1st year.

The even MORE sad fact is we haven’t been a winning team since the Pegulas took over as owners. What’s it been 10, 11 years so far? Don’t you kind of think that’s even a bigger deal here? Amazing how people are so quick to blame everything on Eichel yet the far bigger problem with this franchise is still here overseeing everything. Is it still going to be Eichel’s fault 3 years or more from now if we haven’t made the playoffs between 2022 and beyond?
