I’m sure this is an unpopular opinion because Peca was our heart and soul but I loved that Tim Connolly trade. Absolute shame he suffered the nasty concussions. He was an absolute wizard with the puck. Game 1 against the sens in 05/06 is my favorite Sabres game of all time and he was just so incredible when healthy, and in that game in particular.

I keep reading this but I don’t see that in the game logs based on time on ice. I will be up front and admit I have no idea Boston’s depth chart but Clifton rarely played 20 minutes or more per game even long before Orlov came. For reference Joker was our number 4 and he regularity played more than 20 minutes per game. Agreed. His edges, vision and just a hound on the puck with ability to steal it back is phenomenal. My only wish is that his straight line speed was a touch faster but give him time with our development staff and we shall see. He’s gonna be a player. I feel the need to mention again how impressed I am with Novikov.

Yes I will keep my eye on him. I was intrigued by this pick and watched him the most of goalies yesterday. Only one practise so obviously all of this is taken with a grain of salt but he did not look like the best goalie of the 4 yesterday. Hoping to see a better showing today.
