It would be crazy to trade Eichel. We'll never get adequate return. It will hold us back even longer.

Just get rid of players that won't be on the team next season. You're not going to be able to rebuild now, the trade deadline is mostly for teams in the playoffs. Keep Eichel, Risto, Reinhart, Ullmark, and some young guys. Move anyone else.

Good saves don't make up for bad goals. You need good saves and no bad goals to win consistently. The last bad goal lost a chance to keep a divisional opponent from getting a valuable point.

They look like a team with 7 or 8 new players in the lineup and very little training camp to get ready. They seemed to be skating into each other an awful lot. So out of synch.

Besides turning down Regier's offer to coach the Sabres, didn't he also turn down another NHL head coaching offer? I'm thinking Tampa, but not certain.

He doesn't need to blossom, he needs to be competent. He's the least effective player on the team. He's old enough to be a much better player than he is now.
