  1. I’ll throw this in to boot. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buffalo_Bills_(quartet)
  2. Not to mention that it was big enough to hold a Billy Graham crusade back in the day. Just sayin’.
  3. Buffalo Blue Jays? It does have a nice ring to it.
  4. Just like Three Rivers Stadium in PGH, right? I don’t know if you’ve been through that town lately, but the location of the two replacements for TRS looks like an absolute Charlie Foxtrot.
  5. Not a musical performance. However, I’ve heard it said that classical music has had a huge bearing on the metal scene. It’s very much evident whenever I listen to Cannibal Corpse. Listen to Šárka by Bedrich Smetana, and then the song “Ecstasy In Decay”. Also, I think the galloping bass line in “She Was Asking For It” may have been influenced in part by either Mozart, Haydn, or Beethoven.
  6. I know that this is soooo NSFW (or around children). But the chill factor...
  7. It depends on the theology/school of thought. I mentioned certain men for a reason. They’re some of the best in the “business” - especially when it comes to moderated debates. I’m not inclined to do classical or evidentialist debates. They’re not good starting points. Meanwhile, I’m starting to wonder if we’ll ever get sports back.
  8. It was a bizarre read, to say the least.
  9. I started reading Answering Jihad: A Better Way Forward by Nabeel Qureshi. WOW! What an eye-opener. I’ve also started work on what will eventually become a Christian apologetics ministry. I read a lot as it is, so it seems like this would be right up my alley. After listening to debates by men like James White (not the football player), Greg Bahnsen, and Sye Ten Bruggencate, I see how apologetics debates are supposed to be done. However, I’ve also decided to stop doing a news blog. It is impossible to meet daily deadlines with my highly erratic work schedule. Plus, I just can’t keep up with all the different news spins.
  10. I hear ya. Discernment is key, but it’s also very difficult in this day and age with all of the information overload out there (not to mention actual “fake news” and the conspiracy theory spectrum). ATST, many of us will only listen to what we want to hear and thereby become guilty of confirmation bias regardless of our place on the political spectrum.
  11. I finally finished reading Alas, Babylon by Pat Frank a couple of weeks ago. Nuclear war or not, the same scenario could have been applied to our current situation. I even got a chuckle out of the part where the town library suddenly started getting a huge amount of attention. In the meantime, I plan to finish The Romanov Sisters by Helen Rappaport, Far From Rome Near to God (my apologies to the devout Catholics on here, but it does make for an interesting read from 50 different former priests), and Common Grace And The Gospel by Cornelius Van Til (when it comes to theology, this book is not child’s play). Oh, and there’s also Outbreak by Davis Bunn, which was published last year a few months before COVID-19 hit. I can’t do much else when I’m home. My wife is still hunkered down at home since she’s immunocompromised.
  12. Make sure that Xmas card has lumps of coal all over it. Mother of all Pyrrhic victories.
  13. At any rate, I know we’re all glad that TPKP had the actual money on hand to make it happen instead of going through a shady deal that could have horribly backfired for everyone involved (including the fans).
  14. Either way, I’m glad we never faced that piece of reality.
  15. What a perspective... Best that I threw in that caveat before someone decided to move that post over to TOO.
  16. DISCLAIMER: this is not a political post. Pardon the segue, but I think it’s interesting that you should point this out. Can anyone here imagine what might have happened to the Bills had DJT Sr. been able to “buy” them with all of that shady financing he tried to pull off with Deutsche Bank? The Pegulas have taken a lot of flak from us - including from me. However, we can’t fault them for not having the REAL MONEY on hand to buy our beloved franchises. We may not be seeing any serious results yet, but it is reassuring that the Bills and Sabres won’t be leaving town anytime soon. Yes, I know, PSE has taken it on the chin like just about everyone else has. But I don’t see how The Trump Organization could have possibly stayed afloat during this pandemic crisis and yet pay all the personnel at OBD . The Bills would have been bankrupt before now.
  17. I listened to the whole thing because a friend/HSC wanted my thoughts on this. So I had to give her the benefit of knowing how to answer his asinine stupidity. The sad part is that he does have an audience. Ironically, just as he was saying something negative about the whole Bitcoin system in that video, he had it up on his website that he was accepting donations through Bitcoin. Now that, folks, is a special kind of stupid.
  18. If there’s anything I’ve learned recently, it’s this: you can’t fix stupid, and you can’t fix human nature.
  19. This has to be one of the strangest tunes I’ve ever heard
  20. Not to mention what might have happened had someone with very high political aspirations had bought the Bills (with possibly financial leveraging from Deutsche Bank to boot).
  21. I’ve seen some wacky conspiracy theories with regard to COVID-19, but this one is a real doozie. I did not put this in the Religion thread because he spent quite a bit of time talking about the virus. (However, from a religion standpoint, I really think he’s off his rocker.)
  22. I have no words to say. I am that ????? about it!
