I wouldn’t mind seeing Ovi raise the cup. He’s the best winger of his generation by far. The SC would add to his legitimacy and legacy. On the other hand, LV winning would be quite the story. A bunch of cast offs with chips on their shoulder. This also goes to show how important a goalie is. Fleury is no joke.

If it were me, I’d try to get Karlsson from Ottawa. Karlsson and Dahlin headlining the first and second D pairing would be sublime. Taking a swing at Carlson (wit a C) would be next. We need to improve D. No question and no Faulking around this year. I then move to wingers who can score. Target JT Miller. I don’t think there is a chance in hell that Tavares signs in Buffalo. He’s lived mediocrity and won’t want to be part of ours.

Agree with PA, good post. Does the projected lines assume we trade Z, Larry, and Pommers? Or they will fill the empty slots and hopefully produce to your numbers? This team needs wings that can score.

I thought Jack improved his overall game this past season. He was much better defensively. I didn’t notice as much coasting. He hustled and he played hard to the end. I don’t think you can lay much blame on him. I put more blame on the high paid vets that didn’t get it done and a goal tender who couldn’t make a stop and critical times. ROR will be fine next season. I want him on this team.

There was a lot made out of their final home game when he went and grabbed the puck out of the net after the game and tucked it into his pants, like he knew he was not coming back. I’d give Dahlin some time to adjust before throwing him out against the leagues top players. I don’t think we can expect that from him until year 2 or 3. He still needs to physically mature. Defense still needs upgrades. I mentioned in another thread this morning, what would it take to get Karlsson? He’s done with Ottawa. Can you imagine him and Dahlin paired as your top defensive pairing? It would be a coup! A fellow Norris Trophy winning Swede as a mentor. I like the sound of that. There is certainly reason for optimism this morning.

Fully agree. As the top guy on your second pair, he will be a freakin’ beast. It’s really amazing how fortunate this organization is this morning to win the Rasmus Dahlin sweekpstakes.
