  1. Rob Ray trying to say “Colorado” was the highlight of the game.
  2. Bunch of people responded to that on Twitter, asking what “major” piece. He replied Chad Johnson....
  3. PP zone entries are going to be a struggle without Jack
  4. If you gave me those four names, I would guess “former Vice Presidents” before I guessed “NHL hockey players”
  5. Yes and no. I think it's a bit of both. You win games (and thereby make the playoffs) by scoring goals. PPG count just the same as EVG on the scoreboard. Now, I obviously see where the correlation thought comes from. Good teams are good because they have good players. Those good players make up the PP, so they should be among the best in the league. But still, you need to score to win games. A good PP is FAR from the only indicator of team success, but I think it's pretty important.
  6. It sure helps to get there, though ;) We saw how that worked last year though.. But of the top 13 PP% teams last year, only us and Tampa missed the playoffs.
  7. The Pens power play is so lethal this year. Kessel, Crosby, and Malkin are 1-2-3 in power play points across the league. Kessel: 65 points (2nd), 33 PPP (1st), 51% of points on PP Crosby: 60 points (10th), 30 PPP (2nd), 50% of points on PP Malkin: 62 points (6th), 28 PPP (3rd), 45% of points on PP Our top three scorers are Jack, ROR, Kane. They have scored 25%, 27%, and 22% of their points on the PP, respectively.
  8. I work with an Aynsley- yeah, double Y! I laughed at the second set of bolded names. Made me think of Prairie from The OA
  9. His 54 game performance so far paces to: 33 G, 47 A, 80 points But that's with the league's worst PP for 45 games. I think he easily blows past 35 with a handful of PPG thrown in. He scored 10 PPG in 61 games last year. His tap in from Sam the other night was only his third this year. Kane should be the only substantial piece leaving the offense at the deadline. We know that won't hurt Jack's production :D
  10. They only played 70.5 even strength min together last year. I don't recall them playing together this year outside EN minutes. But yeah, they obviously play a lot together on the power play. ROR has scored 7 EVG this year and 9 PPG. His career averages aren't nearly that reliant on the PP. He has scored 2 EVG for every 1 PPG over his 9 years. Small sample size that is probably more indicative of our late PP success. But interesting. Edit to add- ROR's 9 PP goals have been assisted by: Okposo: 5 Eichel: 4 Kane: 3 Reinhart: 3 Risto: 2 Beaulieu: 1
  11. Imagine if Boston went Barzal, Connor, Boesser with those picks. DeBrusk has been solid for them this year, but still. Cleveland Browns-esque.
  12. Jack also sniped that one blocker side. I remembered the goal vividly, but went back and watched the highlight anyway. Glad i did, because i forgot the beautiful blind pass from Sam to set that up. Sam should have gotten both assists on that one. But good for Casey hehe
  13. I recall that you don’t drink.. so you may be watching the same game, but you almost certainly aren’t watching the game the same :P
  14. February 26th. Bouncy Ball's trade deadline is in 1 hour. We have a little more time in hockey though!
  15. The airport in Cleveland will be busy. Expect delays :P
  16. I chose that image of Madnela at random... but now I realize that it eerily mirrors my new Josie avatar of Eichel :D
  17. I understand splitting Risto and Scandella to spread the talent a little bit and form a second pair that can eat into the top pair’s minutes. Would have preferred to experiment with McCabe as Risto’s partner over Beaulieu though. Unfortunately we’re without Jake for 3-4 weeks :( A Nelson-Scandella pairing is awesome because it sounds like:
  18. Fantastic! Moving a couple years ago really threw off my biking. I had so many favorite routes in Amherst. But I never got familiar enough with the routes around downtown Columbus. Where I lived was such a busy part of town, limited bike lanes, blind corners, street parking which means no shoulder, crazy college kids driving on their phones or worse... I had a couple miles of pure fear before I could hit any safe paths. But I moved in September and now I'm in the 'burbs. There's a trail that picks up right in my condo community. Where you live matters so much for biking. Sounds like you're even better off than before! Very happy to hear that.
  19. I'm curious if the Islander's biggest fan will be in attendance. That guy is at EVERY game. Good seats too, corner glass. I don't know how he fits through the metal detectors.. Where does a car gotta go to find a ticket in Buffalo? And don't tell me BPD- I'm not talking that kind of car ticket ;)
  20. Very cool! Now here’s the important question for you- how are the bike routes near the new home?
