  1. While I agree that playoff hockey is almost always more intense, and better hockey because of it, fighting actually decreases even further in the playoffs compared to the regular season. And it’s still fantastic hockey without it. Haha, what do you want? No one has an actual answer. I’ll say maybe a little bit, but not too much.
  2. Thompson before and after pics.....
  3. It’s not a flu virus. It’s a coronavirus. And, yes, there is.
  4. Well, he probably will get force fed top PP time, because he is an absolute weapon on the PP. He probably will deserve that PP time.
  5. I tend to be more on the “Olofsson isn’t THAT good” side, but I don’t think we should get too sure of ourselves. To act as though he can’t possibly get better at ES is silly. He could, even if it’s less likely than for most rookies. The NHL is still a different league which posed new challenges to him. If he can find a way to get open a little more often at ES he has everything he needs to be a great goal scorer there as well. Also, your 40-50 point projection was probably with him playing on a 2nd-3rd line? Still comes off a little odd when considering the fact that in his rookie year he produced at over a 60 point pace.
  6. Actually there are not plenty of doses for everyone who is at risk right now. You know what else might improve someone’s mental health? Knowing that their high risk mother/father/grandparents/sister/brother/child has gotten the Covid vaccine.
  7. Fair enough, I too have seen some pretty negative opinions on him as a prospect leading up to the draft. I honestly do not seek out news regarding the WJC team Canada roster, so haven’t seen what sources have been saying about that, apart from what’s been posted here.
  8. From people here, it think the general feeling was that maybe he wouldn’t. I think some of that was residue of the feeling that he was a reach at where he was drafted. However, he is one of the top goal scorers available to team Canada, and I don’t think it can be stressed enough that the team Canada HC is his OHL HC. He is the coaches guy. He already knows and trusts Quinn.
  9. Cozens plays video games too. You can play video games and still be a hard worker. Apart from your misguided burn, I agree. There seems to be a pretty clear attitude difference between the two. Cozens’ dedication and work ethic appear to be top notch.
  10. They honestly may have invited fewer RWs to camp to begin with because they knew from the start that Quinn was a near lock.
  11. Owners are constantly complaining about losing money, yet the value of their companies consistently skyrocket. How is that a failing, unsustainable system???
  12. Yeah, that’s his OHL head coach. I would be very surprised if Quinn doesn’t make the team, because his coach will be the guy picking the players. Quinn is “his guy”.
  13. They were so worried about all the money they were going to lose that they spent as much as they possibly could on player salaries. Literally, they could not have spent more. Internal cap was a bunch of bs. I know this isn’t the whole story and I don’t doubt that they will take a lose on a season with no attendance, but still, come on. N. American major 4 sports franchises have a ridiculously high return on investment. I just don’t want to hear about the owner’s complaints.
  14. I would not be in favor of this, from a moral standpoint.
  15. If that last one is a real side effect, then I’m sure that the Government has already secretly snuck the vaccine into the chem trails over my house.
  16. Google says 109 miles. I didn’t realize that it was so close. I forgot about that bit of Alaska that drags down south along the coast. Its way the heck out there, that’s for sure!
  17. The Yukon Territory is a part of Canada. It is not in Alaska.
  18. Use whatever numbers you want I guess, the accuracy of my off the cuff prediction was not the point. The point is that signing Dahlin to a long term deal right now, would be cheaper than signing him to a long term deal 2-3 years from now after he has performed at an elite level. That’s why it could make sense for the Sabres to sign Dahlin to a long term contract ASAP, even if he hasn’t quite “earned” that salary number yet. Contracts are about what you predict the player to do over the duration of that contract, not about what they have done previously. It does, of course, as always, depend on the numbers that both sides are looking for.
  19. Not saying they should or shouldn’t, but I’ll lay out the answer to your question. “why give him a contract that he hasn't earned yet?” Because you believe that he will be worth that contract, and more. If you were able to sign Dahlin to a 6x8 contract, and he becomes a Norris level guy 2 years into the deal, then that is a fantastic bargain contract. As opposed to signing him to a 2x4 bridge contract, and then signing him to 8x10 after he has a Norris caliber season.
  20. I don’t know, or even care, what their motivations are. I’m just saying that there are ways to have games, maybe even games with some fans, that would be pretty safe.
  21. Lack of ES goal production specifically is what I was talking about. He did pick up assists at an ok rate but I don’t think he made a lot of plays that directly led to others’ goals. Im not saying that Olofsson isn’t good, or that he shouldn’t be in the top 6. He is good, and he would be fine in the top 6. I just don’t think he has been so good at ES that he must be on the 1st line or even the 2nd. People often refer to his awesome chemistry and 1-timer with Jack and use that as evidence that he should definitely be on Jacks wing, when in fact, Olofsson was not an impressive goal scorer on Jacks wing.
  22. He didn’t score an ES goal in his first 11 games. He only played 7 games after coming back from injury and actually scored 2 ES goals in those games. His lack of ES production wasn’t due to his play after coming back from injury. His production does not support your narrative.
  23. The owners of my company have lots of money, yet keep their business operating, thus allowing a bunch of people to keep working and supporting their families. There are right ways and wrong, safe and unsafe, ways to do this. Just look at the NBA/NHL compared to the NFL/MLB.
  24. Today, I got up and went to work. A most evil act.
  25. Crazyness. Yeah, he is good, but he isn’t the 8th best player in the league, he just isn’t. I think that Vancouver is just a really trendy “up and coming” pick right now. I don’t even think that they are going to be that good though. After next season they are cap-screwed. Their management can’t get out of their own way.
