Donald J Trump, your thoughts on his Presidency

Ok, fair enough. To the bolded, absolutely. And I don’t think anyone here is doing that. -

So, if the courts decide that Trumps lawsuits are not genuine, then that will be the results of the process. But you or I saying that they aren’t genuine does not make it so. The disputes are ongoing until they are ruled upon. -

The difference here is that Clinton conceded after if became clear that she had lost, so at that point it was over. She gave up. Trump refuses to do so. He is making challenges and protests, frivolous as they may be. He has made it very clear that he is not giving up. That’s why the word “if” comes into play, because Trump has not conceded. He is still fighting. Because both sides are still saying that they won, that’s why we need to let the process play out. This is not to say that I think Trump has any real chance at remaining in office. I don’t think he does. But he is going to keep trying ***** until they pry it away from him with a crowbar. -
That’s fair. Just the numbers: Hughes was at a 64 pt pace, Dahlin at 55 pt pace. I think it’s a reasonable expectation that Dahlin will be over 60 next season. Also, due to the size deference, I think Dahlin has a significantly higher ceiling.

Not familiar with the term “genuine dispute” and its use/connotations within legal circles. I would guess that most are in the same boat. I honestly think we are just talking past each other. If you are thinking of the terms “dispute” and “genuine dispute” with your lawyer hat on, and I’m thinking of them from layman everyday usage, that’s probably at the root of the issue. -

There is a genuine dispute. Trump has started a dispute. In fact he started disputing the election before it even occurred. But it doesn’t appear to have any discernible merit. You are getting way too hung up on that word. The fact that Trump is disputing the election doesn’t mean that he has a good case, just that he is arguing about it. Dispute /diˈspyo͞ot/ noun a disagreement, argument, or debate. verb 1. argue about (something); discuss heatedly. 2. compete for; strive to win. -

Whether it’s with genuine or nefarious intent, Trump is disputing the election. As for “all of this”, yeah, personally, I have a lot of problems with how things have been done. -

Trump is disputing the results. The results are being disputed. The results are in dispute. The differences are in semantics. Just because there is a dispute, doesn’t mean that one side can’t be flat out in the wrong. -

Who is ruling out the possibility that the current administration cheats??? Its literally not over until the electoral votes are cast. -

And some people think that there is a panic about Covid. Geesh, you guys are jumpy as heck. There was an election. They counted the votes. Biden got more votes. But the election isn’t over until the electoral votes are cast early in December. The guy in the White House is disputing the way that some votes were counted, but it seems extremely unlikely that this will alter the result. If there isn’t any reason to alter the current vote counts before the electoral votes are cast, appears extremely likely, then Joe Biden will be the 46th President of the US. Is this a set of facts that everyone can agree upon? -
Ranking the Sabres 1st rounders of the past 30 years:
Curt replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
The pick could just have easily been Sam Bennett too. Something to think about before labeling the drafting of Reinhart a fail. -
I’ve seen it before, but this is just so so nice. I do hope that the 50th comes back as a 3rd jersey at some point though.

It’s mediocre. The butter knives is alright and goathead shoulder patch is obviously awesome. The BUFFALO written across the bottom and the grey is a bit of an eyesore. It’s mediocre. I would have done the goathead crest on a royal blue, if it was me.
-
I was just trying to get at the fact that you were resistant to people praising him, yet seemed extremely high on him yourself. You have basically cleared that up though. Early last season, Dahlin was not generally Buffalo’s best D, but by the end of the season, I think he was. I agree completely with everything else you said except the last paragraph, where my views diverge slightly. I know this is going to sound a little weird, but, assuming continued health, I would be legitimately surprised if Dahlin is not a hall of famer. Same for Eichel. 3-4 players go in every year for their on ice work, so it’s not THAT exclusive. I would give it more like 66-75% that he is as good or better than Hedman.
-
Lol. I just thought it sounded funny the way you wrote it. Didn’t mean any offense (or annoyance, lol). I get you. Is anyone saying that he is currently elite? He has been called a generational prospect, which I think is warranted. That doesn’t mean that he is elite today though.
-
Best 19 year old defenseman of the past 30 years, 40 years? 50 years? So you think he is on track to be a consistently top 5 (top 2-3?) D in the league or perhaps even better! What’s that? No doubt top D in the league? It honestly sounds like you are pretty dang high on him. But you don’t like it when people talk too glowingly of him??? No one here is saying that he is a Norris level guy right now. The most generous things I’ve seen people say about him are that maybe he has a good chance of putting up 60+ points next season and that he is better than Risto right now. Everything else that people say is in future tense.
-
So you don’t have any doubts that he will get better, but you won’t say that he will get better until after he actually gets better? Lol
-
Whaaaat!!!! You mean he isn’t going to score 70 goals in the NHL??? It would be a little surprising if he shot 7-8% though. Most players with good shots shoot 10%+.
-
Saying that a 19 year old defenseman has a long way to go is kind of a no brained thing to say. Of course he does. Are there any 19 year old defensemen out there that don’t have a loooooooooong way to go? That’s an honest question by the way.
-
The bolded is absolutely true. I feel like Jack got more benefit of doubt his first couple years than Dahlin has gotten from the fans.
-
Patty Kane for his age 32, 33, 34 seasons is not the guy that I want to trade premium long term assets and $9.5M in cap space to acquire. Yes he is good and yes he helped Chicago win 3 Cups, but please note that Chicago has not been able to get out of the 1st round since they started paying Kane and Toews $10.5M each, 5 years ago.
-
I wouldn’t trade Dahlin for Kane straight up, let alone add anything more.
-
Very true. He would be coming into camp in top, mid season form. Maybe as good a chance as he’ll ever have to grab a spot.
-
11 goals in 13 games. Leading Liiga in both goals and points.

Yeah, I think it makes no sense too. Covid is going to be spread by guys sitting next to each other on the bench and in the locker room, not during a body check. Who is mandating the no body checking in the OHL? Is it the League, the local health departments, the provincial government? Who are the people who hate checking in hockey? If I were to indulge in stereotypes, I doubt it is the generally old white guys who are decision makers within the OHL and government.
