If you were GMKA, what is the most you would pay Reinhart to extend?

A 7 year contract would be for his age 26-32 seasons, unless my math skills have degraded further than I think. -
Need to see the actual numbers there. That chart is basically unreadable. It actually looks like that chart was made to look pretty, not give me useful information. Whats the difference in goal differential between a team winning 60% and on winning 40%? I can’t tell from the chart, but from the looks of it, I would say it’s 0.25 goals, maybe close to 0.50 goals. That’s not nothing. This chart looks like it’s telling me that FO% matters a little bit.

List your necessary attributes for a Stanley Cup competitive team
Curt replied to SDS's topic in The Aud Club
-Above average goaltending Defensemen: -make good exit passes -skate well in transition forward/back -win physical/puck battles -QB the PP Forwards: -At least one top 6 level C who you want on the ice in any situation -a guy can really control the puck and be dangerous making plays on the PP or ES -plenty of guys who forecheck and back check hard and fast, and win one on one battles -plenty of guys who will go hard to the front of the net -depth through the lineup. 3rd line should be productive and there should be multiple players in the bottom 6 who can move up and play in the top 6 without much drop off. -
Bogosian was beloved by his teammates is Buffalo as well. He can’t stay healthy. It’s not just luck, it’s chronic. When he played healthy in Buffalo he was ok to meh. At times when he was working his way back from injury he was pretty bad. Overall, brings some useful qualities but nothing impressive. That’s fine for a bottom pair guy making $1M or whatever he is making now. In Buffalo he was making $5M+ and was supposed to be a key top-4 guy. Instead we got a just ok guy who was almost never healthy and way overpaid. Fans were not impressed. Its like Okposo now. He can still play and fill a role. At $6M it’s a disaster, at $1M it would be fine.

Oh, bummer. That can’t be a great development situation for a pretty good goalie prospect, spending multiple seasons as a NCAA backup playing only ~10 games.
-
First, that’s Mr Jack to you. Second, They really do. Casey needs to pick up some of that slack for it to click. He didn’t look as good this game. Also, Olofsson looks like he needs to stop practicing his shooting with Tage.
-
I think I’m done with the 2 Dmen on the PP. especially with Miller at the point and Risto down low. The PP cost them big this game.
-
They need to work on their 6 on 3 play in practice.

Portillo will go back to Michigan to be their starter. Johnson is confirmed to be returning to college too, correct me if I’m wrong.

McKenzie doesn’t write the scouting reports or rank the players. He is sharing what NHL scouts have told him. His sample of 10 NHL scouts ranked Raty at 20.

Dustin Tokarski Named the NHL First Star of the Week

Is Michaela Pastorius a UFA? Maybe we could sign her cheap to backup Ullmark. -
I would just take who you want at #1.
-
I would picture him on something of a Dylan Cozens time line. Probably one more year in college then NHL ready, maybe he spends some time in the AHL first. Good thing about him is that because he competes so hard and plays a 200 ft game, he could play up and down the lineup if he isn’t quite ready for a full time top-6 role.
-
If they finish in last place, they can only drop to #3. Silver lining?
-
To be fair, it’s the size + skating combination, along with his undeniable puck skills that make him a great prospect with a very high ceiling. The question is, evaluation of his overall skill set and how well you think he will develop. It’s not a question of if Power is a good prospect, he is, it’s whether he is should go #1? Top-5? Top-10? Tyler Myers is really big with really good skating and good puck skills. Will Power be more than that?

Nah

Been meaning to reply to this. Got busy. Well, first off, it’s certainly a subjective thing, so I won’t be upset if someone sees things differently. It’s definitely not his skating style. To be honest, I feel like the fact that we need to say that it seems his maturity has improved, is part of my issue. For a captain with strong leadership skills, you would not be noting that his maturity has improved from below average to averagish. I guess I just see him as a bit of a temperamental guy who gets bent out of shape and a little down when things don’t go his way. As opposed to a guy who “rallies the troops”. I certainly don’t question how hard he works, I’m not saying that he isn’t passionate, and I’m not saying that he is a bad influence. Just that I don’t think he brings anything particularly special as a leader that I would worry about losing if he was to be moved. In summary: Great player, ordinary leadership. Again, this is just my view of him from the outside. It’s very subjective and it’s ok if someone sees it differently.
-
The goals seemed ordinary. He wasn’t over the top (is he ever?) but he was fist pumping, fist bumping, and smiling with the guys after both. In the interview he gave short answers but there was no attitude there. Could be any number of reasons why he wanted the post game to be finished ASAP.

If you send them down, who is going to be the 7th D? Some cheap vet guy? Lol I just think it’s better for them to play every day in the AHL than sit half the time. EDIT- I’ll add that I generally like to keep consistent pairs when possible, instead of moving guys around every couple games, and Bryson/Samuelsson are quite different players so I think switching them with the same partner may be awkward and hinder chemistry.
-
You want one of Bryson/Samuelsson sitting as the 7th D and not playing? Wouldn’t it be better for them to play everyday in Rochester? Then if there is an injury you can call them up, and leave that cheap 7th guy sitting.
-
Yeah, that’s what I said. A vet LD (McCabe or someone else), then one of Bryson/Samuelsson in the NHL, the other in the AHL. Then have a cheap experienced 7th D who hardly plays. When you need another LD, don’t play the 7th D, call up Bryson/Samuelsson.
-
Hamilton is really good, but I don’t think it’s worth it for Buffalo to chase him. A big part of what you are paying for with him is excellence on the PP, and Buffalo has that covered with Dahlin.
-
True. I think it depends how they want to use the D pairs too. Do they want 3 balanced pairs? Do they want to create an offensive pair and a defensive shutdown pair? Whether it’s McCabe or someone new, I think they need to have a veteran LD for next season. I would not want to be depending on Bryson and Samuelsson behind Dahlin. Dahlin-Jokiharju (Vet D X)-Risto Bryson/Samuelsson-Borgen Then have a cheap vet 7th D, with Bryson or Samuelsson playing in the AHL when not in the top 6. That’s if Risto and Borgen both survive the expansion draft.

Similar games, but different positions.

Yes, if a team is already having a fair amount of success, they will be very hesitant to rip the heart out of their team in exchange for Eichel. Maybe it works out for them, or maybe Eichel becomes (remains?) very injury prone, or maybe he shows he isn’t a “winner” or whatever. Point is they are going to default to sticking with the big guys who have gotten them this far and see if they push the team farther with them, as opposed to blowing it up. If it was a video game then yeah, the AI would accept the trade, but these are people who have built real relationships together.
