Most of my family are rural rednecks of varying intelligence, and they are pretty much all getting vaccinated.

I would only consider it if you have a specific player in mind that you really like who you “know” will be available later. In general I think trading down is a bad idea. And as always, it just depends on the trade and how far down.

Thanks. I would have loved for management to get Sam signed long term, but I also don’t know what Sam was asking for on a long term deal. I don’t think we can just assume that he would have signed long term for $5-6M a couple years ago. I see a lot of kids of former players signing shorter deals and getting to UFA ASAP. Tkachuk, Domi, Reinhart.

That “quote” is not in the article you linked.

I like it, but I’ve also heard people talking like that for pretty much my whole life. Me too. I thought he was funnier when I didn’t have to hear him as much.
-
Could they have? How do you know? Isn’t it completely possible that Reinhart was pushing for short deals at every turn so that he didn’t have to stay in Buffalo if they didn’t get it together? You throw out a lot of definitive statements of fact that you have no way to back up. Also, punctuation.

Can a player temporarily waive a NMC?
-
Why didn’t you pronounce it like that in the title?
-
Yeah, Wright is like your typical high end #1 pick (Matthews, MacKinnon, Tavares, Stamkos) Bedard looks like something next level (McDavid, Crosby, Lindros, Lemieux)

I feel like it’s a good example of a word that was used in such a poor way by the general public that it actually broke the meaning of the word in such a way that it can’t even be used in normal conversation without everyone involuntarily thinking of the inappropriate usage. In the case of technical electromechanical documentation, the context is so clear that it can still be used. Plus, let’s be honest, no one reads that stuff anyway. 😂
-
Everyone believes you, but in the case of this thread it lacks context that is present when reading technical documents, so everyone’s mind immediately jumps the other usage.

Really good show. Im just having some fun with you.

And if you need to add this to your marketing slogan. It’s not well written. Didn’t you watch Mad Men?

This title is on the line. I can’t decide if I’m supposed to be offended.

He doesn’t make the top 15 from the best Sabres team that I’ve ever seen???
-
I’m sure if Drury just burned to be a Buffalo Sabre, they would have worked it out somehow. Likewise, I think if the Sabres had valued him as a truly vital part of the organization, they would have worked something out. I also can’t blame a guy for taking his dream job. To me, it looks like neither side wanted it enough. As to the intricate details/timeline of private contract negotiations from 14 years ago, I’m not sure we can know exactly what happened. Personally, at this point, I don’t really care. I liked Drury as a player, as a Sabre. He was one of the 3-4 central figures on the best Sabres team I’ve ever seen.
-
I thought the story was that Drury and the FO had a deal agreed to in principle but Golisano wouldn’t give it his stamp of approval, and that’s why it died on his desk. You are under the impression that he just forgot to fax it or something? That doesn’t seem to make sense. I also recall hearing that Drury told the Sabres that he would come back to them if he was offered a better contract in FA, to give the Sabres a chance to match, but then didn’t do that.

NY media can be pretty annoying, but I don’t feel any particular way about the Rangers. I would hope that any other team’s GM fails.
-
I like Chris Drury. Good for him that he got this job. I hope Chris Drury fails miserably at his new job.

Not to sound too cold, but a lot of people have had to go in to work every day straight through this whole thing. I certainly understand the anxiety though and companies should be as accommodating as possible for someone with a diagnosed medical condition.
-
Yeah of course. It should go without saying, because if they draft poorly, it’s very difficult to be a high quality team for more than 2-3 years. It’s almost a prerequisite for success.
-
He said so in his post trade interviews. Paraphrasing, but the interviews are out there. Said he really just wants to be one of the boys, not be looked at as a centerpiece of a team. It’s crazy to me that a guy feels like that, but also wants huge money, but YMMV.

Yeah, I’m fearful of this, but also wonder how much worse could it really be? If, IF, Jack, Sam, and Risto go in the next 12 months. This team will be something completely different and new. The old has been awful so I’m not really that afraid of something new. If, IF, they acquire the right pieces in those trades, and do a good job drafting, there could be a lot of talent and internal competition on the depth chart. That sort of environment will push the cream to the top. Just draft Beniers or Eklund, we’ll figure out the rest later.
