  1. I have never said he wants to leave, so I’ll assume that was directed at someone else. I think I disagree with the bolded. Can you name any “star” players who we know asked for a trade, but in the end were never traded? Also, I think that a belief that a NMC would not affect the trade return is naive, and in the end would almost certainly prove to be false.
  2. I don’t think either is much of a Hjalmarsson. Dahlin/Borgen looks more like a Keith/Hjalmarsson pair to me.
  3. Again, this is just not how business is conducted, regardless of whether you like it or not. If Eichel asks for a trade after his NMC kicks in, he will be traded, and it will impact the return.
  4. I kind of agree. Not that he made it sound definite, or even likely, but it sounded like a realistic possibility.
  5. Sounds tough, and maybe that’s what you would do, but in the real life NHL, 0% chance such a situation is handled that way, by any NHL team.
  6. I’m with @dudacek and @Weave The fortunes of a team do not revolve around one player. In hockey, less so than any other sport.
  7. I don’t think it was. The OP is a train wreck.
  8. I don’t see how this makes sense. We aren’t talking about someone making huge money by NHL personnel standards. This guy almost certainly makes less than the lowest paid player on the NHL roster.
  9. Nope. Other leagues don’t give these ridiculously vague injury reports. Other leagues give very specific reports on injuries. https://www.buffalobills.com/team/injury-report/ https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/teams/NYM/new-york-mets/injuries/
  10. The roster will not have all the same players when it comes time to make the real list.
  11. Hmm, my ignore is filling up today.
  12. 19 but yeah
  13. Agree. It was a pretty long lonely time for Adams. I’m glad that things were mostly gutted though and I’m glad they are filling back in from the top down by some experienced hands hopefully.
  14. She is going to trade in for a newer model.
  15. This makes sense because that sounds like A LOT of areas under one AGM. Also because I believe there have been suggestions that they may be looking to add more than one AGM. Teams generally have 2-3.
  16. It’s speculated that Rutherford is still under his Pitt contract until June. Rutherford has said himself that he won’t be making any decisions about what’s next for him until that time.
  17. An Associate GM title/promotion is generally given to an Assistant GM who is consider vital. A real right hand man you could say. Generally someone who is thought of as being qualified for a GM position in their own right.
  18. Where can I find this? Lol
  19. Thanks. That’s probably good. On one hand it’s sort of just a title, but on the other it’s an indication of how much power/responsibility he will have. Karmanos is a guy who is a borderline GM candidate. Someone who is more qualified than Adams himself, so I want him to have serious influence. I expect Karmanos to take over revamping the analytics and scouting department. Something he did in both Carolina and Pittsburgh. Also, as a guy with 20 years of high level FO experience, I’m sure he has lots of useful contacts and relationships around the league.
  20. @Brawndo Do you know if it is Assistant GM or Associate GM?
  21. Good! They need help. I’m a huge fan of this move.
  22. It’s it would be highly unusual for a last in the league “seller” team to improve at the deadline. These deadline trades are about moving out short term assets in exchange for assets that could help the team in the future. I wouldn’t think this needs to be explained because it’s at the very core of 90% of what makes the deadline an interesting time, but apparently it needed to be said. I would argue that the team picked up useful future assets for players who would have provided zero future benefit to the team. And they swapped Lazar for a player who was underutilized in Boston and has a chance to take on a larger role.
  23. Sure. Its just that I’ve seen this before. Boston gets the other team all wound up (knowing that they are going it), then the other team spends half the game thinking about fighting, hunting for retaliation hits, and thinking about what stupid stuff Boston is going to pull next. Meanwhile Boston is beating them at a hockey game.
  24. Playing into their hands in my opinion. They are the Bruins, they play this A-hole, cheap shot, walking the line type of game better than you. They will beat you if you play their game. Buffalo needs to focus on playing their game.
