Agree, but the question was specifically “if those 3 are gone”. I don’t worry about having two great LD. Could be like Ducks back in the day where they could play entire playoff games with one of Pronger/Neidermeyer on the ice pretty much at all times.

No real offense, because it’s absolutely possible that you are correct, but this level of certainty in the future of 17-18 year old players is impossible.

The Official Samuelsson Needs More Love as a Prospect Thread

I think he will be a little less hittery and rank up fewer PIMs than Orpik, maybe (I hope) with more offense though. -

I for one am just glad that this thread is official. I’m tired of all the non-official Mattias Samuelsson threads. -
Yeah, I don’t think this lineup would need to worry about exiting the playoffs in first round. Especially not if Reinhart is moved and backfilled with a 2/3rd line winger.

Slam dunk do it. Anyone who wouldn’t needs to look at the bigger picture. Risto for one season or Tuch for 5? Also, Tuch is having his best season (31 goal, 53 point pace!). There is no way this makes sense for Vegas. Buffalo would need to add.

I’m optimistic. He has been a little up and down these first few games, but he is a very young D, just turned 21 last month, so no surprise there. I know that he has the reputation of big stay at home D, but he has actually produced decent offensive numbers at lower levels, something Borgen has never had for comparison. I’m curious to see if some of that translates. When he was drafted, I was concerned about his skating, but it seems like it’s going to be good enough for him. Hopefully he can be good enough in transition, great in front of the net and corners, pushing guys around and winning pucks, but then also making high quality breakout passes. -
I think it’s looking more and more like this is true.

I don’t see why Risto should factor into this decision. Risto has just one year remaining on his contract, and the guy they pick is unlikely to be NHL ready. It’s likely that the pick and Risto are never on the roster at the same time.

We agree. He was speaking about the losing streak. If asked about the organization overall, he probably would not answer openly. I don’t don’t know why this makes my sauce so weak. EDIT: Oh you think I was saying that there isn’t anything else negative about the organization apart from the recent losing streak? Hahahahahaha...............
-
He is talking about struggling to break out of a long losing streak and the pressures, stress, and embarrassment that comes with that. Buffalo just went through an 18 game losing streak, hence the reference. It wasn’t a referendum on the overall state of the franchise. The losing streak was pathetic enough. No need to manufacture it into something else.

I honestly believe there is no use in going after Marchand. He wants you to go after him. He wants you to be thinking about him. He wants to get in your head.
-
I’m not guaranteeing anything, but he is talented, still young, and development is often not linear. I would have said the same about Mitts that you said about UPL, until recently.
-
Getting a late pick for a 3rd string goalie UFA rental.
-
Seems strange to give up on UPL in favor of a guy whose highest level of achievement has been college backup. Goalies are weird and they take time. IPL just turned 22 last month and has only 25 AHL games. His future is far from decided.
-
Yup, he is sturdy enough. He looks both nimble strong out there.
-
He really isn’t big, very strong on his skates though.

Tokarski can’t stop pucks

JFC Risto on the half wall???
-
It’s a bug, not a feature.
-
I don’t think people are afraid to fight Marchand, and I don’t think Marchand wants to fight anyone.
-
I thought it wasn’t bad. Smartest thing they did was to not pass to Risto.
-
Doubt Minnesota would do it.

I just have to say, I feel proud of Mittelstadt. He has a whole new attitude out there. Looks like a different player from his first two seasons.
